CDC claimed you didn't need a mask at all in early March and then backtracked in early June saying everyone needs a mask . The whole organization is a joke

Don't care because I don't live in texas, but if thousands get sick and hundreds die....elections have consequences.

Fully understandable. While Dr Fauci only has an MD from Cornell, the LG can boast of BA in English from University of Maryland at Baltimore County.
Dr. Fauci is an admitted liar. Regardless of how relatively malicious the lying was, it was a devastatingly poor decision. He has no public credibility going forward and is essentially not defensible. Fauci should resign in favor of a replacement, if for no other reason than public credibility and therefore the rate of recommended policy adoption by the public.

I've known since late March that I should be wearing a mask. Where have you been?

You know what let the state follow his lead they voted for him and we see how well their state has managed till now. As for Fauci he is one member of a task force and he advice's based on the best knowledge at the time but its not his place to make states, protesters or the President to wear a mask that direction and enforcement should come from the Elected Leadership which we appear to be lacking.....

As someone who had the unfortunate experience of working directly in public health, I cannot overly describe how political that area of healthcare is to people here. If your Governor is an idiot or has political ambitions they will lead their states off a cliff if they deem it nessessary and there is absolutely no mechanism to prevent them from doing so between elections. All you can do as the Dr, Nurse, Epidemiologist is resign, and they will replace you with a yes man.

I also know for a fact this is what the federal side is like as well. Remember medical personnel are only advisors, politicians make the final call. Dr. Fauci could scream everyday to do something but he is not the elected official holding the office or power.

You guys give the medical professional inflated powers in your heads and refuse to blame the Governors or President that make the actual policy.
