I don't know, but at least get the message across to the media that there are indeed functioning black people, because as it is, they are being the silent successful black minority in all of this protest and the ghetto blacks need to see and know that they exist. And perhaps there are greater percentages of success in the black community, but being so quiet that they are almost invisible. I really think that America needs to know that they exist.
I don't think it would make a difference. If one is already so dumb as to think that there are no functioning black people, telling them of this 'news' isn't going to help them.

Maybe if people only stopped paying attention to the most sensationalist media headlines and got out of their echo chambers and maybe if so many White folks didn’t panic and flee once a few middle-class Black families moved to their neighborhoods, they’d know we exist. I bear no responsibility for Whites’ perceptions of Black folks when I did all the things y’all said I should do to have a decent shot in life, but all of a sudden that’s not enough now?

If you want to go that route, there is no such thing as a Native American. Those that we call Native Americans migrated from Asia over the Beringia land bridge. We are all immigrants now.
They were the first humans to inhabit these lands. They are the Natives.
But if we’re all immigrants, on what basis can one tell the other to leave?
The reality is, in neighborhoods and cities across America, there are countless organizations, activists and movements dedicated to curbing violence in black communities. The number of “Stop the Violence” marches dwarfs the demonstrations against police brutality. Unity rallies and peace picnics happen every day. Scared Straight programs for at-risk youths, gang counseling, neighborhood watches, intervention specialists, youth counselors, and too many other people and groups to name all lead the charge against crime and violence.
But those efforts don’t make the evening news because they aren’t as salacious as people blocking traffic and protesting; nor do they serve the preconceived white confirmation bias. Besides, there’s no way white people would know about this unless they stopped deflecting with trite questions and instead actually went into a minority neighborhood to selflessly join the effort to address the problems plaguing ...
Honey, they make the news EVERY SINGLE NIGHT in Chicago. You can hold candlelight vigils and marches and cry on camera that your kid got shot...it isn't going to do any good.
When I see hardcore ghetto black people I really cringe because I'm afraid that it's fodder for the people that are either racist or sort of lean that way. It's a perfect example and reason for them to say see this is how those people are.
I hate it but it seems like that's how it is. Poor ghetto white trash negative stereotypes just don't seem to stick as hard to white folks that are less than stellar as it does with black folks. I sure as hell hope I'm wrong here in my assessment. This is as close to admitting that racism is or might be systemic as I'll go.

Not sure what you mean there. 'I been knowing her' to me is as easy to understand as 'I have known her for a while'.
Some of it is more fun, which is why the phrases go mainstream.

The intricacies are hard. Sometimes I am thrown off by only slightly different wording if I can tell it significantly changes the meaning.
I used to think it was just uneducated. Poor people who never sat in class long enough to learn proper everything. Now I hear people code switch and understand it's a choice for a lot of people.
