He was a multi-millionaire and a public figure. You question the quality of his care? I am surprised.

For what it's worth, if the desease does very much damage to the walls and linings of the air sacs in your lungs. There is no way to survive without a ventilator, otherwise the victim will have low oxygen levels and become weak and suffer all kinds of secondary damage.

Also, other tissues in the body are receptive to COVID. Heart tissue is receptive and I think kidneys also, so once the virus blows through the air sacs into the bloodstream it attacks these other organs.

Even if the person survives the damage to tissue is permanent. Air sacs don't grow back, heart muscle is scarred.

I thought I read a report about how they were moving to dialysis-type of blood re-oxygenation (is that a word?) for severe COVID patients due to worries about being on a ventilator actually causing more damage to the lungs?

Oh I didn't realize that. I must be slow on the news cycle.

That's too bad. A month of misery.

Yeah that could help, I suppose. The air pressure on weakened and inflamed tissue might be accelerating damage. I am not familiar with the costs or the ability to scale up these other technologies, but if it works it should be available to the very wealthy, at least.

Fought his way out of poverty to be a success in America only to die of ignorance and stubbornness by chasing after the approval of the GOP.

It’s called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
