This is the thing. I'm not laughing or taking joy in it.

Neither am I because it's epically sad. I still don't blame them one bit and suggest they do it. No one gives you a gold star for sticking it out and you could get much worse than that.

And I'm not saying that I do blame them. What is disturbing is that some people take joy in watching the cities turn to crap. There is a vindictiveness involved.

Do you understand how hard it is to watch the joy and hate in committing destruction that is splattered across the TV screen? Same coin different side. Neither side of this coin is good for the country.

I haven't been watching the news at all. All I need to do is scroll on Facebook to find some bad news. I don't want to watch the news.

It's a damn shame.

I witnessed it in my early years growing up just North of Detroit.

The early 60's we were always excited to go "downtown" to shop, events along the river, the auto show every year. My parents and extended family all grew up there. After 1967 it all changed. By the time I was in late teens in the late 70's much of Detroit was a no go zone. And it just went further downhill from there.

Detroit was considered the Paris of the midwest. Now how many more of our great cities that have so much culture and history to be proud of, for everyone to enjoy, will simply be abandoned by those that gave a damn. Because they are to frightened to stay.

Terrorism does work. The most victimized are typically the ones perpetrating it.They are destroying their own environment, and futures, to get some sick satisfaction out of sticking it to their perceived enemies. JMHO.

You're saying that protesters attacked you personally? Can you post some photographs of any damage to your home or injuries to yourself? That's lovely that you can trace your ancestry back 250 years - does that mean you have some slave-owners in your past? - but being in the military doesn't automatically entitle you to anything. If you want to honor your ancestors, it seems to me you would turn your back on someone like trump who tramples on so many basic american ideals and traditions. Your ancestors who admired george washington would have been appalled at trump.

After how crazy 2020 has been, I'm just glad I'm closer to age 100 than age 21. Back when I was 21, the world was sure crazy, but not as crazy like now.

I have Facebook friends in a democrat city where the mayor has given control to the terrorists and the photos of devastation are breathtaking.
