More specifically, they are extending the "rights". HKers can currently come for 6 months without visa. Now they can stay up to 5 years and then apply for citizenship.

But if you born after 1997 are not eligible. So anyone 23 and older. But what are these people going to do? UK already has a lot chinese people for its size. Which means there are enough chinese restaurants. Is not racist to say this. Employment stereotypes are largely true. Plus my own father owned a chinese restaurant (in US).

As for all the white collar professionals, how many more does UK need? There is no dearth of anything. There exists just enough for profit and affordability
The UK doesn't "need " any immigrants at all, ever. No country does.

The UK is overpopulated as is, but that's not the point. The point is that the replacement of the natives continues to accelerate.

What the UK said is that it will accept Hong Kongers who are eligible and come here for work, working at least five years before being able to apply for citizenship.

So this won't be 3 million and will mainly be the brightest who can secure well paid jobs in order to afford to live in the UK, whilst Australia, Canada, the US and other countries are also prepared to take Hong Kongers.

The US looks like giving Hong Kongers refugree status, along with the EU, Canada, Australia/NZ, Taiwan etc. If the west gives them refugee status which is increasingly they can go to any western country they choose.

The idea that all 3 million will leave is also ridiculous as HK is their home and many will not want to leave.

As for China it has already hinted that it will not allow this to happen.

I doubt all 3 million will be in a position to take up the offer, I also doubt the Chinese will let them all go.

How about we make a trade - we'll take everyone here protesting and saying how they hate this country and send them over to HK in trade for their residents who are educated, hard working individuals who would appreciate the opportunities the US can give them.

The UK is bursting at the seams but here in the US, we have many depopulated cities in the Midwest with footprints too large for them and can use some more population. This is a great opportunity to bring in foreigners willing to work hard to rebuild their economies because there aren't enough Americans willing to move back to them and start all over again. So if the UK decides to change its mind, the US ought to step in.

We should only let in people who have the critical skills not met by Americans.

How is this not racist????

You can argue that UK has enough people, but only a racist would argue it has enough X ethnic people.
