The parties never shifted, the Republican party is still the party of Lincoln.

This party shift is very well-documented. Denying the party shift of the Dixiecrats is like denying the holocaust or claiming the earth is flat.
To People who don't know any better, they might be suckered in and actually believe you.
To People who have actually looked it up and learned the reality of history, you look like a flat-earther.

Apparently you didnt study history in school. Political parties dont stay static over CENTURIES. Names change as do the principles they espouse. In fact they have pretty much reversed policies from back then. Republicans used to be the Progressives. Think Teddy Roosevelt. Democrats didnt really do social issues until the actual Socialist Party started getting serious amount votes and winning lot local offices in early 20th century. The Democrats then usurped some of most popular positions of the Socialists, and actual Socialist Party went into decline. Well that and big hyped RED SCARE when communists took power in Russia.
Look at Nixon's policies. There were some quite progressive Republicans until Reagan era. Now they are all cowering over in the extreme righty tighty Royalist corner with the ghost of Genghis Khan. They now seem to want a KING, not an actual president. So far right everybody else looks like a COMMUNIST to them. they have no idea what a REAL COMMUNIST is. Or that there might be half dozen actual communists left in USA and those handful are over age 90.
