Abraham Lincoln was a liberal. The Republican party of that era was dramatically different than the deporables comprising it today.
And the demonic party of today is not the democratic party of JFK. Back then the biggest difference between the parties was bigger government vs smaller government. The demomic party of today is communist. At least they've dropped the pretense. Not sure why they don't just call themselves the American Communist Party. Probably because they'd have to change all their jack ass logos to hammer and sickles.
trump has said this multiple times over the years. EVERYONE knows that Lincoln was a Republican. Somehow trump got thru his "fantastic education" without ever learning this?
If you asked the average person below the age of say 45, many would not know Lincoln was a republican or that the democrats were supporters of slavery and the democrats stood against the civil rights movement of the 60's. LBJ was a racist bigot but he strong armed his fellow racist democrats into supporting the civil rights act so he could add it to his legacy. The civil rights act of 64 would not have passed without the overwhelming support of republicans.
He was liberal for his time but he would still be considered a far-right, white supremacist with how far left we are today. The country's sociopolitical center should be considered about the year 1900.

Well for that matter, the Republican Party under Trump is basically the John Birch Society anymore. Except for the fact that I don't think the society ever had a leader who was as slimy a person as Trump is.

You know who delivered some socialism? Bush, bailouts for banks/automakers in exchange for the government getting a stake of ownership. Trump has been wanting to do the same with airlines.

Many democrats want to force single family neighborhoods into adding more multifamily units. Not only that, but they want these multifamily units to be Section 8 housing.

Well I'm not a Democrat or conservative of 1865. I'm a ~1900 center left centrist or moderate .
