So, let me ask again, what don't you like about the old Constitution?

Could you just imagine a new constitution being written today? It would be ten thousand pages long and basically give the government total control of everything.

The framers used the document as a compromise to get the country and running. They assumed it would be amended as time went in, more than once.
I’m sure when the articles of confederation were established there were people who thought the constitution unnecessary.

They were far more mentally stable than any deliberative body we could assemble today.

You may want to read about the early legislative bodies before you decide that.
Don’t any of you people read history? I know right wing extremists are anti education but this is basic stuff.

If you think you are more intelligent than Adams or Jefferson, have at it.

As you appear to know nothing of the Continental Congress and the process involved for the drafting of the Declaration, perhaps you should read it. Liberals, of course, rarely read history, thus they are in the optimal position to criticize it.

The Declaration, as Jefferson wrote it, had a passage for the abolition of slavery. North Carolina and South Carolina, led by Rutledge and Middleton, demanded that the passage be removed, or those states would vote "no" for ratification of Independence. In order to pass the Declaration of Independence, the passage was removed, much to the chagrin of most of the members of the Congress.

READ BEFORE YOU SPEAK. The reason libs are enamored with socialism is that they have failed to read history to understand its failings. MOST have never read "Das Kapital" and have no idea what is in it.

The document is timeless. Perhaps the 13th Amendment needs to be re-written? After all, it is old!
