Is this a good time to point out that...…..MANY other first world counties, besides the USA, are ALSO suffering severe economic problems. Those problems cannot be blamed on Trump.
.
Shhhh.........
Lefties are just having another little TDS circle jerk.
Trump sabotaged himself. He pressured governors to reopen. They did. Things got a hell of a lot worse. Looking back to April, everyone was saying this was a NY, NJ and CT problem caused by terrible Democrats.
38k cases per day in April on the high-end. We are at nearly 80k per day now... and climbing.
Republican Governors, at Trump's behest, are pushing to open schools for in-person instruction which logic dictates will make things get exponentially worse. In my state, the governor wants to reopen sports stadiums, performing arts centers and movie theaters. Yeah, this will go over real well.
I'm sure we are all looking forward to sick teachers going food shopping and infecting the workers at the store who can no longer stock the shelves. And these sick kids are going to go home and give it to their parents... who might be nurses, doctors, police officers, fire fighters who then can no longer serve the community.
Many Americans took this seriously in March, April, May, June and July. And our efforts were pissed away by the other 50 to 60% of the country. Thanks for putting us in this mess.
Gross domestic product — the broadest measure of economic activity — shrank at an annual rate of 32.9% in the second quarter as restaurants and retailers closed their doors in a desperate effort to slow the spread of the virus, which has killed more than 150,000 people in the U.S.
The economic shock in April, May and June was more than three times as sharp as the previous record — 10% in 1958 — and nearly four times the worst quarter during the Great Recession.
Neither the Great Depression nor the Great Recession nor any of the more than three dozen economic slumps over the past two centuries have ever caused such a sharp drain over so short a period of time.
By comparison, the worst quarter during the financial crisis of 2008 was the 8.4% GDP drop in the fourth quarter of that year. The previous low-water mark was a 10% slide in the first quarter of 1958, while the worst in recorded history came in Q2 of 1921.

The USA has the dubious honor of having the MOST deaths of any country on the planet ? And as of today, the national numbers of newly diagnosed cases is headed for the ceiling.
Your country is going to be paying the cost of this world wide pandemic for many years to come. So will others including mine.
BTW Canada ( the entire country ) has been averaging less than 10 deaths per day for weeks. That is for
a population of 36 million people, which is just about the same as that of California. For what ever reason, we are doing much better then you are.
We all know the reason. It's the fat orange idiot in the WH and his rabid MAGAs. The rest of the world took a realistic scientific approach to gain control, which is why our deaths are still off the charts and the infection rate continues to climb five months later. Scientific thinking didn't dominate here, MAGAs did.
The difference between our countries is we are overrun by anti-science, anti-intellectual MAGAs. We never had the same chance the rest of the world did because of it. And you're right, it's going to take years, and a Democrat in office, to right the ship.

The effects of Covid are a world wide problem and very predicable. To blame it on any world leader is silly.
