The government, the medical officials and other talking heads have all been lost and confused on this. Democrat and some Republican governors badly botched the response. Cuomo let thousands of elderly die in nursing homes due to his confused and uneducated response.

Since Trump gave the governors authority to do what they felt necessary, many have fumbled and turned into mini-dictators, while others have been slower and lapsed with response.

This is a hard thing to manage and something that even medical professionals (Dr Fauci for example) have been extremely inconsistent with.

The country examples you cited have miniscule populations and governments that can be more harsh on its population (some anyway) than the US.

Also, since Trump is so hated by the Democrats and the mainstream media, they have not helped during this situation, and continuously bash Trump and spread tons of misinformation.

It's a complex issue and not one that you or I could manage well, or anyone for that matter. This would present hard challenges for any leader in charge. And with the mainstream media against you 24/7, it makes it that much more challenging.
So what I'm getting out of this is that you're admitting that Trump is in over his head and can't handle this situation?

FYI Taiwan: "
"What is the type of government in Taiwan?"

"Democracy"
"Unitary State"
"Semi-presidential system"
"Constitutional Republic."

If you read about their stellar response you will understand the top notch pandemic office they have in place. Part of their response included open and honest dialog from their president. There was no inciting the Covidiots with "open up", "get the schools open," "it will just go away," etc.

Read HHS.gov: HHS Secretary Azar meets with President Tsai of Taiwan and Praises Taiwan's Transparent Covid-10 response."

Azar congratulates Tsai for winning her second term and says " her courage and vision in leading Taiwan's DEMOCRACY are an inspiration to the region and the world."

So one democracy gets it right under a transparent, honest leader with the best tools in her tool box, the other lies, gas lights, hires crony incompetent yes men and gets it so wrong.

Which kind of leadership in a democratic nation would you prefer?

You can deflect, make excuses for dear leader, but, you can't deny that we are failing here with Covid. It's an embarrassment and an epic disaster for this country to have fallen so low.
