I think this is an extreme and dangerous measure but have seen people comment in other forums that this is a good move. Just wondering what others think of this. Would you support forcing people to quarantine in the USA, away from their homes if they tested positive for Covid? Is it worth it in order to eliminate Covid?
No, it is not. Testing is highly inaccurate, and even with the chance that if one tests positive that they must give the names of their contacts, and that they and their contacts will be told to self-quarantine for 2 weeks, has probably ended up keeping some from medical care. The idea that if I tested positive and would be moved to a quarantine facility, I would have to be near death to elect that choice. Seems it would do more harm than good.

Also, of those that seek medical attention, the death rate if 1/10th of a percent. Many people don't even know they have it. It is most dangerous in nursing homes, and they really should have been able to control that, if one was to control anything, and they couldn't.

Maybe this too, is part of the planning when they meant for the tabletop exercise Plan 201:

"Give them an inch, and they'll take a mile."

Regardless, even if we take your number at face value, a solid 98% of those who get the virus recover fully or show no symptoms and since the at risk groups are known, the reaction to this is totally off the charts. Even more so, criminal even when the side effects of the reactions are taken into account
Even here you are now touting "third leading cause of death" without any context. Its as if some of you have a religious like devotion to propagating the myth of Covid19 as a fatal threat to all..
The whole world is involved in your conspiracy theory that the "death toll is gamed"?

What "context" do you need? It is simple arithmetic.

Back in April it was the number one killer for a while.

Violation of a quarantine order is still a criminal act almost everywhere in the US.

This is what the left wants here in America. They want the government to be able to forcibly remove you from your own home and lock you up in a facility, as long as it is their side doing it to you.

Plain and simple: I'm not agreeing to be locked down until others tell me it's safe to not be locked down. Most people survive this virus and we are headed down an extremely slippery slope in terms of people's freedoms.

Look at that big Sturgis motorcycle rally. 200,000 people attended. Where are all the Covid cases from it?
Haven't heard a thing.
Then you haven't been listening. Sturgis has caused cases in 8 states.

We won't know that for a couple of months. It takes time for people to die.

Just getting back to the last century, before America turned into a bunch of whiners. I remember in the '50s the county health officer would nail a quarantine notice on the door, and anybody who violated it got to sit out the quarantine in jail.

yeah, right. He should have listened to Nancy and Joe, we should have not stopped flights from china & Europe, and we should have all run over to China Town, SF to party with our Chinese pals. Is this what you're implying?
