This dude did everything right and will still treated like trash by the police. Can we finally end this myth that nothing bad will happen to you if only you comply?
The worst part is that the sheriff will face absolutely zero consequences for being terrible at his job.
And they wonder why some people can't stand them. I am not talking about criminals. I am talking about regular people like me who had encountered incredibly unprofessional and rude cops.
I have met them in the academy when they were cadets. They are on their best behavior at the academy because they want to graduate, but some can't wait to get a shield so can they show society who is boss. Better watch out. I am no longer that same person that nobody paid attention to in high school. I am not a parking attendant anymore. I've a gun and badge. I am the one calling the shots now.
When I was in college taking criminal justice classes there were some police officers that took classes too. They would laugh and joke about tasering homeless people who were sleeping.

These are the type incidents that actually trigger the anger in the people who support BLM. When conservative people talk about how George Floyd and Jacob Blake were career criminals they might have a point other than the fact that this type of stuff happens to regular people as well.
I've always felt that BLM has made a huge mistake not getting these types of examples out there because maybe people would be more sympathetic. But Sandra Bland, Botham Jean and Breonna Taylor examples haven't moved the needle so maybe I am wrong.
