States like California, Washington, Michigan (who has less than 20 deaths in a day and are still not fully open - 9/4 had 7 deaths for example) are using their economies to further politically damage Trump. Pretty sick. That's screwing over your own citizens for political reasons. You have businesses that are shuttering and the politicians don't give a damn. When the election is over, COVID-19 will be less of a big deal. Watch.

Do you think its only democrat run states that have Covid-19 restrictions? All states have some kind of mask mandate. Pretty much all states have restrictions on restaurants and bars, like they can only operate at 50% capacity for dine-in. My state of New Hampshire (republican governor) and neighboring Massachusetts (republican governor) have pretty tight restrictions.
Today I read a forecast that there will be a second wave of cases this fall, probably peaking after the election. If Covid-19 is still a "big deal" after November 5, will you post on this forum admitting that you are full of BS?
Plus they are starting to report that "midwestern states" are seeing a sharp increase--just in time for the heat of election time.
It's been TOTALLY used as a political weapon. And still is--look at any blue state: NYC has still shut down indoor dining. California is an absolute joke with its practical dictatorship rules.
The leadership on the Democrat side is mostly loaded with buffoons, who think the populace are their minions to do anything at their dictatorial commands.

Being in the midst of a holiday weekend - and with students back at college - I'm betting those cases aren't going to trend down for the next week or two.
Posts like this seem to conveniently forget one thing which always amazes me.
The U.S. is not the only country dealing with Covid-19. If what this post and others are saying is true, that Covid-19 is nothing more than a political tool, then start providing me the conspiracy theories. The U.S is currently in a period of slowly easing restrictions. I suppose then that other countries in the same position are "in it" with the U.S. to take Trump down. New Zealand increasing lockdown measures, Germany pausing easing restrictions, South Korea tightening restrictions, Melbourne under lockdown in Australia...the list goes on.
It's posts like this and people in this country that continue to fuel the flames. It's the citizens who chose to have big gatherings, not wear masks, and simply don't want to impeded on their precious freedoms. It's absurd how naive and self-centered so many are.
That being said though, of course there are some taking advantage of Covid-19 in an election year. It's human nature to pounce when a door is opened. But Covid-19 is not a political weapon, it's a health issue, plain and simple. Although an average of around 950 deaths per day in the country doesn't sound that much, that equates to around 350,000 deaths in a year. On average for all cause, it's around 8,000 death per day. So Covid-19 represents 12% of that. And I know there will be those who say the cases and deaths are inflated for a variety of reasons. Even with a 10% margin of error, it would still be more than 10% of all deaths attributed to Covid-19.
Keep on making this a U.S. thing, as if it doesn't exist anywhere else, or that other countries aren't facing the same issue. I guess many people chose to put blinders on just to defend their beliefs.
We will learn to live with it.
But it won't disappear.
This is part of the whole 'hoax' conspiracy. Even Russian is on it -- wink, wink.
Of course it will not disappear, but it will suddenly be lets get things going again, especially if Biden wins.
He claims willing to shut down the whole country, but unless that is some sort of effort to try to destroy capitalism (not impossible with the leftist loons he has two steps behind him), he and the Democrats will want to declare they saved the economy.
You cannot do that with businesses shuddered and money being printed for everyone, including illegal aliens.
The only way to do that, is stop all the hysteria by keeping people shuddered (except for certain liberal/leftist causes).
That alone should be evidence to anyone with half a brain what is going on.
No church, no work, no gathering of groups of actual protesters against the lock down.
EXCEPT you can gather in large groups to protest police brutality, riot, loot, burn the bible and America flag, chant "death to America", and attend large gatherings for civil rights, etc., etc., etc.
The stories and video is out there for everyone to see, yet some bury their head in the sand and pretend it is not their registered party behind it.
Funny how it is not happening in (R) cities.
Then social distancing goes out the window and you march with your fellow apparatchiks like Whitmer (D), DeBlasio (D) and other (D) officials.
No salons can be open, yet Pelosi (D) and Lightfoot (D) are still getting their salon time.

We will learn to live with it.

Look, EVERYBODY wants the economy to come back. Everybody wants bars and restaurants to be open. Everybody wants kids to be able to attend school just like they used to.
None of the above can happen until we defeat this virus. It's simple as that. If you advocate an immediate end to restrictions and mask requirements, then you are in favor of more deaths and the continued collapse of the US economy. You are, to borrow a phrase from right-wingers, anti-American.

The people on the right that were screaming the loudest about the shut downs are the same ones that don't want to be told to wear a mask.
We all know the "Chinese virus" ended by Easter as Great Leader proclaimed some months back or at worst during heat of summer, cause apparently it doesnt spread during hot weather.... Or you can inject bleach or stick a light bulb up your butt or use some old cure for rabies or something. Seriously the Republicans apparently flunked 8th grade science class. And have declared pandemic over cause it interferes with their election campaigns. If you get covid19 now, you are just outright unpatriotic.
