This is so absolutely outstanding. Princeton University is just one of the thousands of woke institutions parroting the lies that everything is racist, including itself. So the US Department of Education is, *gasp*, taking them at their word
The DOE is demanding that Princeton elaborate about their racist school and will pull funding because they are discriminating:
“On September 2, 2020, you admitted Princeton’s educational program is and for decades has been racist,” the Education Department stated in a letter to the university. It cited school President Christopher L. Eisgruber’s statements that racism and the damage it does to people of color persist at Princeton, and that racist assumptions remain embedded in the structures of the university.
The letter sent to Princeton on Wednesday from Robert King, assistant secretary in the Office of Postsecondary Education, questioned the university’s repeated representations since Eisgruber became president in 2013 that it remained in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which protects people from discrimination based on race, color or national origin for any program receiving federal financial aid. During that time, Princeton received more than $75 million in taxpayer funds, according to the letter.
People are going around declaring themselves hopelessly racist. And then if you dare say "I'm not racist!" they say you are a worse racist because you won't admit it.
They've made actual discussion about racism nearly impossible. So this seems like poetic justice.
Maybe if there are consequences like this, we can rid the discourse of "everything is racist." Then we can have rational discussions.
I've seen a lot of these "we're still racist to the core" letters from various colleges. It honestly never occurred to me that the DOE would take the apparently shocking step of actually taking them at their word, but kudos to them for doing so.
Princeton, I believe the phrase we're looking for here is "hoisted on your own petard."
