So much for trump nominating Constitutional judges.

Quote:
Barrett wrote specifically about the duty of judges to put their faith above the law in an article entitled “Catholic Judges in Capital Cases.” Among other things, she strongly criticized Justice William Brennan’s statement about faith, in which he said that he took an oath to uphold the law, and that “there isn’t any obligation of our faith superior” to that oath. In response, Barrett wrote: “We do not defend this position as the proper response for a Catholic judge to take with respect to abortion or the death penalty.”

Well, we knew the attacks would be coming, guess this is the best you guys could come up with.

At least you aren't inventing rape allegations this time.

Give them time......

They're probably scheduling auditions as we speak.

The USA was founded in 1776, and the Bible was written many years before that...thus, the Bible preceeds the U.S. Constitution....no?

What am I missing here?

Doesn't preceed mean "to come prior to?"

Now, if Judge Barrett said "pre-empt", then that would be different.

If this is all the Dems have on her, Trump needs to nominate her immediately.

I'm fine with the Cuban Judge too who has more experience on the bench...either one is fine by me.

In legal jargon the order of precedence means which document has greater weight. So if there are conflicts between the two documents, then the document with precedence controls the question.

However that isn't really the issue since she didn't actually use that word, at least from what the article says - it's just how the article describes it. However, if she views the Bible as being the controlling document to her legal decisions rather than the Constitution, that's a problem. Not because I am opposed to the Bible, but the job of Supreme Court justice is to support and interpret the Constitution, not the Bible or any other religious text.

This notion of Roman Catholic belief as a huge fear when JFK was running for POTUS.... NOW it's A-Ok for DJT to nominate such a OLD notion candidate who wants's to dish the Constitution and force USA to adhere to "Old Testament doctrine.. Christ was sent to suffer for human frailties.

These notions are indoctrinated prior to Christianity .. ala Post Jesus sent to die on behalf of the flock for their sins.

So this women if a candidate wants to go BACK pre- Christian times and follow such un-evolved times~~

It speaks volumes about just where DJT's head wants for USA!!

I wonder if this person could even pass muster with GOP congress?????
