oh do tell, supposedly wise people who claim this wasn't a photo op - exactly what was the purpose? What presidential duty did a person suffering badly enough from a life threatening illness to be in the hospital fulfill in doing this?

Every other Covid 19 patient who has had the severity of this virus has been surrounded by people in almost hazmat -like suits, with no family even allowed inside the hospital to be with their sick family members. Trump, on the other hand, not worrying about anybody but his self image, could not care less about his secret service getting this virus. The SUV is hermetically sealed against a chemical attack. You reckon there was fresh clean air blowing around in there? That's real sickness, my friend.
Not all patient with active COVID-19 stay in the Hospital.
I had family friends that had COVID-19 who were at home but it was required that they always wore a mask to prevent others for getting or spreading the Droplets from the infection when they speak, sneeze or cough.

I'm not talking about people who had Covid, but didn't require a hospital stay. Trump's case was bad enough that he required hospitalization. There's a big difference.

Rules and guidelines don't apply to Trump. It is why he got the virus. It also explains how he can go out for a joyride while under hospitalization in the full throes of Covid-19 while other patients were quarantined with many dying all alone with their families unable to visit.

Did I miss where they said they contacted Trump's doctors to see if that ride was approved by them or not?
