If Trump is the definition of an alpha male, then our society is definitely heading down the tube.
It is, as 2sleepy points out, a useless term picked up from a long-since withdrawn study of wolves in captivity. But it clearly speaks to something in the red-pillers' mindset.
As much as I detest the term, you're on to something. It's the difference between being in control and in your face.
Some of the most unflappable leaders I've encountered are ships' captains - of either gender, incidentally - whose demeanor might have been quiet and modest, but whose authority was/is unquestionable. The type for whom "I think we could have done with another turn before locking off that dockline" is the equivalence of a screaming fit from a lesser man. (Only it stings worse and is remembered longer.) And the sort of man who owns a screw-up.
I just watched a chat with the captain of a sailing ship that was dismasted 15 years ago or so. He brought his ship in with all hands - not a given - and give his account quiet and level-headed, completely up front with what he did right and what he did wrong. "That wasn't the right decision, I definitely ended up with egg on my face." Leadership. I'd sail under him without a second's hesitation.
Whereas some of the most unbearable leaders I've encountered have been newly promoted army officers, full of flash, panache and desire to play with their new train set. To clean up and show the world how it's done. They're the sort to lead seasoned NCOs to drink and troops to the edge of mutiny.
"Sully" Sullenberger and his co-pilot come to mind. Both quiet self-effacing guys whom you wouldn't probably notice walking through an airport, but showed their "stuff" when it was really needed.
Another, without a doubt, would have been Rosa Parks.
Heh. There was a Doonesbury strip with an interview with a candidate for high office (going from memory):
- "The people wants a president who can kick ass!"
- "But - shouldn't an efficient leader know which ass to kick, how hard, and in which direction?"
- "Details! The individual ass isn't important!"
How dare you attack Trump and his masculinity!!! It's quite obvious you embrace toxic masculinity. How dare you mansplain!!! Lol.

No comment from me on Trump, but Biden back in the day was recruited to play Div 1 College Football, something that only about 1 in 36 High School Football players are talented enough to do. That is the epitome of what defines alpha.
That being said in my experiences the alpha/beta thing has absolutely no correlation as to one's political beliefs.

I'd add Neil Armstrong to that group even though his modesty would probably argue against it.
I'm pretty sure Merkel has the bigger penis as well.
