Is that a misdemeanor or a felony?
Illegal detention, for sole reason to ID.
In Illinois, no one has to provide name and birth, except upon "lawful" arrest
Suspicion is neither. Its a flimsy reason an officer can give for stopping someone.
Every criminal, law breaker believe the cops are violating their rights.
There are laws and there are rights. God does not give us rights. Our constitution does. If there is a law against a particular action that trumps your right to engage in that action.
We have this thing called the legal system, such as it is, that determines if your rights were indeed violated.
We get our rights at birth. Government can only take away rights.
Our Constitution does not give us rights. Our founding documents cover rights our government protects.
The officer Must articulate his reason. Suspicion? What crime was being committed or was about to be committed in this case? That's what matters
Doesn't matter.
If you ask a cop why they stopped you or are questioning you they can use suspicion. Suspicious person, fit a description, etc.
Obviously being combative and arguing, yelling actually and acting a fool will get you no where. But if you insist you are free to behave that way. I just wish some people would stop being surprised that in doing so one is liable to be detained further or arrested. Personally I prefer to NOT be a combative ahole.
And we'd still be under British rule. Law enforcement doesn't get to violate rights.
I didn't see any unreasonable request by the cops. But I did see an obnoxious and combative person screaming at them and escalating a situation that didn't need to be.

It is unreasonable to ask for an ID. What you saw is a citizen who is tired of having his rights violated.
Depends on ones beliefs. Your creator or just because you were born. Natural birth rights
