That's because the US had satellites parked over Iraq.

The US always knew exactly where the Iraqis were, but the Iraqis never had a clue where US units were until they were getting fired upon.

Iraq had ZERO satellites and no real air reconnaissance capability.

China has lots of satellites and air recon assets.

Iraq had ZERO chance of blinding or destroying US satellites.

China can wipe out US satellites.

That would totally negate the technological advantage the US has

China can also eliminate or jam US GPS satellites and that would effectively render the US impotent.

Without GPS, US ships cannot navigate and many US weapons systems will not function, will not function properly, or their effect will be diminished to the extent they are rendered useless.

The US is overly reliant on technology to its own detriment.

If you seriously think a carrier battle group is going to operate in the South China Sea without GPS you thought wrong.

This is 2020, not 1960. If they ain't got technology doing it for them, they don't know what to do.

Hell, without a DAGR GPS device, soldiers couldn't even find their way out of toilet stall in a bathroom.

The smartest thing for China to do is launch an ICBM and detonate it 85 miles over the South China Sea.

It wouldn't destroy or damage a single ship, but the EMP field would wipe out nearly all electronic systems and then China and the US can fight caveman style.

You are a Technological Goliath and someone's little Stone Age sling is gonna take you down.
