Further, I'm guessing they don't have to worry about the feet of snow that many northern US states get all winter. It's hard to generate solar energy when the panels are buried by snow.

Even in warmer US climates, you have issues to deal with. Look at the forest fires they have in California each year. All that smoke blocks out the sun from the panels. In the south, you have hurricanes that can rip those solar panels right off a building.

I'm all for supplementing our current use with solar and wind in certain areas but to rely on it completely for the whole country (and all those electric cars Biden would have us driving) is a fool's errand.
They won't have anymore forest fires, because they'll have to clear cut all of of their forests to make room for the panels.

Big oil was five years ago. Sorry, these dinosaurs are going the way of the real dinosaurs (pun intended).

Green is here. Al Gore won. The oil companies are hoping Trump would give them bailouts while they slowly get destroyed by green tech.

Also, if anyone believes gas will be $6 with Saudi Arabia hurriedly selling as much as they can before oil companies go out of business, that person is as clueless as they comes.

.
Hilarious-

EVERYONE wants alternative energy. EVERYONE. However, only an idiot would destroy the US economy embracing "alternative energy" that is currently too expensive and not capable of supplying the US with energy.

NEWSFLASH: There is already a slow movement toward alternative energy. It will happen, eventually, when such sources are capable of supplying the US with its energy needs. Embracing technology that is not up to the task currently while destroying a huge part of the economy is liberal lunacy.

Liberals live in a fantasy world, not reality. In their world, there is no need for police, the Chinese are always fair, minorities don't commit crimes, and illegal immigrants all have PhDs in engineering.

On the news the other morning they brought up the whole Cows/Cattle and their contribution to global warning. FFS....we are talking about cows, when there are 1000's of giant container ships polluting the air and our oceans.

The only real way we are going to get a handle on it is by population control. We are at 7.8 billion and growing. The more people, the longer we live the more resources we require and use.

Do you actually know what a "subsidy" is? Leftists hate that word when it is used against Business and LOVE it when it is used for their agenda - like scholarships, education, Grants, Earned Income Tax refunds, Community programs ..... a subside is usually a tax reduction OR a Cash payment.

In the case of the Petroleum Industry it is a Tax reduction, just as it is for Apple, Google, Facebook, News Media and most businesses.

I have no problem with the Federal Government banning ALL subsidies for a while and see how that works.
The Military can't operate without buying Oil and neither can any other US Citizen.

Six-dollar gas is coming if Trump isn’t re-elected,” Continental Resources founder Harold Hamm told FOX Business on Friday after the former vice president outlined his approach to energy policy at Thursday night's debate in Nashville, Tenn.

“If Biden is elected and his plan on energy is adopted, he will send America into a deep depression and millions of jobs will be lost in Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Oklahoma, North Dakota and we will once again be beholden to foreign rogue regimes for our energy,”
The irony of this statement is that EVERY TIME the price of gas goes up...

The economy of these states boom due to the high price of oil.

It's stunning how every time gas gets around 3-4 dollars a gallon...we see rigs going up everywhere around parts of Oklahoma. And when it gets in the 2 dollar a gallon range...they are gone.

Right now the oil industry is in the doldrums due to the low price of oil.

Harold Hamm is licking his chops thinking about six dollar oil. He just can't let anybody know it.

They'll survive. I'm not all that concerned about the big oil companies.they're not going to actually implement these restrictive policies you realize thats just all talk to pander to the environmentalist vote.

Plus Eddie above me makes a good point. The frackers really aren't making much money at these prices. Maybe paying more for gas and energy will help encourage growth into the green sectors.

“Oh, yeah,” says Joe Biden, “If I’m elected, the Chinese will pay a price: I’ll be collecting 50% instead of the usual 10%. For now, stay home scared to death of the Corona virus – even if you must pay that price. Bring the whole world to America: I’ll support them with your tax increase. With the money I take from the police, I'll hire social workers to solve crimes - my brother in charge. Who in the world needs farting cows, windows or gasoline?”
