If anything, this shows that Republicans are deeply entrenched.

We thought turnout was the problem and well, Dems turned out in record numbers and it still wasn't enough.

Trump wasn't a fluke. There really are that many horrible people in this country.

Fear not, you'll be able to immensely damage the country for a long time to come.
Trump wasn't a fluke?

I am so freaking thrilled! It's a great day in America!
But we will (probably) have four more years of divisiveness.

Well, as long as I can remain safe in my quiet and beautiful rural community away from all the craziness, and as long as our retirement savings remain at least 90% intact, I will TRY to ignore politics altogether except for the 2022 elections. It will be difficult for me to do this, however, as I love history and the discussion here on City-Data, but I just have a feeling I am going to be more and more depressed with every passing month.

Well, at least the rioting will (probably) go away* and I just hope that the COVID scare will, also.

*The one thing I would like to see is a complete end to police brutality. I think that over-zealous police officers and police commissions who excuse and/or turn a blind eye to this is a good part of why Trump lost; and I think that any LEO who is responsible for a suspect going into surgery or to the morgue should be immediately fired as soon as it is made clear that the LEO was guilty. I do wonder how many people voted for Biden just to try to stop the rioting?

[quote=Cape Cod Todd;59581080]It would be a better day for America as a whole if Trump had flat out won.

The Democrat agenda is still very much a threat even with Trump in the WH. President Harris could do some real serious and lasting damage with her radical schemes and Executive Orders.

IF Trump doesn't win, I hope the Republican Party begins impeachment proceedings against Crooked Biden on his "Day One!" It sounds like the Biden Family may be as crooked as the Clinton Family!

Why are YOU name calling, creating division and spewing hate in that post?

Why do I just know those of you cheering about gridlock will turn around and bemoan nothing getting done?

The fundamental flaw in our government isn't Trump or Biden. The citizens are the problem. When people are so beholden to one party that they'd actually prefer nothing get done be it good or bad, we've lost the proverbial plot.

The only ones gridlock actually hurts are the people, but hey, keep ignoring that fact. Have at it, but spare the rest of us the whining about a do nothing congress, paying fed employees to do nothing, etcetera, etcetera ad nauseam.

Horrible people? Just because they voted for Trump? I could just as well say there really are that many idiots in this country, voting for a demented old man and his socialist back-up.

You call people nasty hateful rednecks and then say that THEY divided us all? It’s your nasty and superior attitude toward working class people that is being divisive.

I’d say that the very loud BLM racists can’t continue to be honored with street signs and murals by Democrats.

I hate Trump? I VOTED FOR TRUMP.

Our awesome SCOTUS will undo an illegals that Biden makes legal. The only thing that really concerns me is Biden getting us back into wars again. It's been nice not getting involved in ground wars.

It seems like this future might not allow rednecks/Appalachian people to live with dignity in the country that they've called home for more than 200 years. Places like Ohio get this; that's we voted for Trump by a large margin after pollsters bent over backwards to distort and deny the true voice of this state (final results about 6-7 points more toward Trump than the final RCP average, and 10-12 points more toward Trump than the RCP averages from over the summer).
I guess you forgot about the mass shootings from rednecks such as Dylan Roof, or the bombing of Oklahoma City building, or the hate crimes on the increase by rednecks. Not to mention white cops getting special treatments for killing black people. An example was a white female cop in Dallas who killed a black man in his OWN APARTMENT. And what sentence did she get? 10 years.

Also, protests against racism are justified. Protests because you can't get your hair cut or your nails done aren't.

Trump keeps fanning the flames.

But you can keep wearing those rose-colored glasses.
