We are thinking that Trump will decide his best strategy is to resign closer to Inauguration Day so that Pence can pardon him...that might force some changes in the Democratic House to fill the VP

Pence could pardon Trump, be there at the Inauguration transition, and put a face to the GOP side
But it wouldn’t help Trump regarding any state suits that have been brought or will be brought

And even if Trump pardons his own children for Federal crimes that might be charged to head them off at the pass, he can’t do anything about state cases either...

So just wondered if anyone else think that resigning might be one way for Trump to salve his narcissistic ego and “leave under his own terms” in his mind...

i'd say there's a 20% chance of trump resigning before january 19. not likely but wouldn't surprise if he did.

No. Like I said in the other thread, attempts to persecute Trump will only fuel his 2024 campaign. Bring on the persecution!

If he does resign then Pence will become the 46th President.

I don't see it happening although anything is possible.

All i can say is Inauguration day will be awkward if Trump decides not to skip out on it. The question now is what executive orders Trump will be issuing between now and Jan 21st.

Trump's kids face ongoing investigations in NY state courts; now the gloves come off. How will Trump respond now to the rape allegations he has so far avoided as POTUS?

He should study McClellan. After he lost to Lincoln (at the time, Lincoln was not a shoo-in for a second term), in 1865 McClellan and his family went to Europe for three years.

Yes but Russia is so cold
And Putin is going to give up his seat — bad health and family wishes it supposedly
