COVID-19 Had No Impact on US Death Rate So Far in 2020 so says this article. The article determines this means the virus is a hoax. I completely disagree with that, however it would be nice if we did a deep dive into the numbers and how causes of death have been determined. I guess history may look different than the present. Time will tell.

The CDC website says the average US death totals since 2015 from all causes has remained unchanged so far in 2020.

Hey guys! I found an article claiming the virus is a hoax. I disagree with the article, but posted it to show some people do indeed think it's a hoax. I know the virus is very real. I have been isolating since March. I take it very seriously. Some people do not. I am also interested in seeing what history says about how the data was collected.

Doesn't matter what your article says. Mortality is up 20%.

I'm waiting for 2021 to discuss 'excess deaths` and if there is truly a significant excess, I want to see them broken into categories.

For example suicides in 2020 vs 2015-2019. Heart attacks in 2020 vs 2015-2019. Deaths from pneumonia in 2020 vs 2015-2019. Deaths from strokes in 2020 vs 2015-2019.

And from here, we can estimate the effect Covid19 had.

It's not my article. It's an article written by someone who is trying to claim the virus is a hoax. IMO, that person is completely wrong. I'm sure there are issues with the determined cause of death and all, so hopefully this can be deep dived once we are on the other side of this.

I wonder if there will be a category pneumonia tested positive for Covid, heart attack, tested positive for Covid, gun shot wound, tested positive for Covid.

Whatever you believe, just remember life isn't fair and neither is Covid.

Approximately 20-40% of the people who catch Covid are asymptomatic. These people will suffer no ill effects from Covid regardless of how recklessly they live, their political beliefs or whether they believe in Covid itself.

Some unlucky people have caught Covid despite taking all the recommended precautions.

People who have lived for years with their comorbidities have died from Covid. But now some fools want to act like you deserve to die for being overweight with high blood pressure. Sure. Whatever helps you make sense of the world.

Excess deaths as of mid August were 275,000 in the USA and about 170,000 reported covid deaths. That is a fact. And its not just here, all countries suffering from covid deaths have increased death rates. If anything covid deaths are way under reported. That case is closed.

The average death rate is not a good barometer for Covid-19 deaths. A much better metric is "excess deaths". These are defined as the number of persons who have died from all causes, in excess of the expected number of deaths for a given place and time.

If you can read, there is a discussion of this, with fairly recent estimates, at: https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/...e2.htm#F1_down

It more or less follows the previous post.
