What half of America wants is individual liberty and economic freedom. What the other half wants is tyranny and equally shared misery. Therein lies the problem.

I get the claim regarding blacks (not "minorities"), although in many ways blacks on average were better off than they are now. But the claim regarding women is incorrect. The 1950's were GREAT for women in this country.
