The original headline said that this was a setback that would handicap women for years to come. Very depressing.

Recession With a Difference: Women Face Special Burden
Hit hard by job losses and the pandemic’s effect on schooling and child care, American women face short-term difficulties and long-term repercussions.

By Patricia Cohen

For millions of working women, the coronavirus pandemic has delivered a rare and ruinous one-two-three punch. First, the parts of the economy that were smacked hardest and earliest by job losses were ones where women dominate — restaurants, retail businesses and health care. Then a second wave began taking out local and state government jobs, another area where women outnumber men. The third blow has, for many, been the knockout: the closing of child care centers and the shift to remote schooling. That has saddled working mothers, much more than fathers, with overwhelming household responsibilities.

I dunno. My wife, who is a woman, (to clarify for liberals, a woman born with ovaries, uterus, vagina, and most importantly, a brain) has it pretty damn good seeing that she can pursue employment that fulfills her without having to worry about paying bills. Money is just icing on the cake.

And Covid didn't kill the economy, politicians did.

our lawmakers at the federal, state, and local level need to focus on reaching across the aisle and finding ways to be civil and respectful of each other’s positions and do what’s right for ALL americans. people are suffering in this government imposed shutdown. do something to help them, lawmakers! NOW.

How nice for your lucky wife. Unfortunately, there are about 165 million women in America, and I doubt that most of them are as lucky as she, and most of them do have to think about money.

My wife worked her way through college, raised three kids (one special needs), and worked her ass off while sacrificing her wants and desires to meet her obligations to life and children. Luck had no part in that.

Now, meeting me was lucky - I agree.

I also worked my ass off despite less than conducive conditions to become successful while raising a kick-ass 20-year-old daughter that will never be a politicized victim. I am thankful that I can give my wife the margin to pursue her passion, as she earned it and I already achieved pursuance of mine.

My wife made really poor marital decisions before we met, as did I. Once we learned not to blame our poor marital decisions on those we chose to marry, rather than identify the underlying cause - ourselves, it has been smooth sailing.

Boundaries and accountability are a beautiful thing. It's a damn shame that liberals pander to those that have neither.

Your ignorance has set Americans back decades.

Liberals don’t care about women. They should have been aborted.

Sorry, not interested in anything that pretends that women and men are not part of the same team.
