I use the top 1% because that is about where your net worth is in excess of $10M, and you have ample money to pay politicians to do favors for you.
To get a national politicians' attention, you must contribute the max to them for more than 1 election cycle.
Then, you might get to meet them at a fundraiser and get to talk to them for 1 minute.
Form there out, the more you give, the more time you get.
I'm not evil because I have not reached that level of wealth yet. I still might, it depends what I sell my company for.
I offered to partially fund a friend running for U.S. House once, foro his first election, but he declined, and said he's not taking any money from anyone. He lost!
Nothing wrong with using your money to further your political agenda. Obviously, it’s evil to impose your view onto others and dictate how others must live.
If you truly believe what you said, you would consistently support the libertarians.
There is a choice between “more corruption” and “less corruption”
And the people have voted for who they feel is the "less corruption". It's never good to have to elect the lesser of two evils, but that's where we are.
I prefer no corruption please...Rand Paul for President.
Life is not black and white, and corruption doesn’t disappear in one election. The point to vote for Republicans is to shift the needles towards Rand Paul etc.
If more people do this, we would move to no corruption in a few decades.
Will somebody please explain to me how the Left's fantasy of confiscating and redistributing other peoples' hard-earned savings is going to allow more of us to live better.
It's like the story of the British unionist who, upon the ascendency of Margaret Thatcher, asked if Conservative reforms "would make more millionaires". When it was explained that capital formation is necessary for economic growth, he "decided" he was against it.
Economic ignorance is the central tenet of the Left; the point-and-grunts seek to eat the seed corn.
