You would have enjoyed, like I did, but couldn't say it, watching the young adults in the college cafe where I work, buck the seating rules --- 4 (sometimes 6) chairs to a table, surely college admin jest. The students merely pulled up additional chairs and all sat around the table, eating and visiting with each other.
However the addendum to that was me with the knowing, cafe services so as to allow students housed on said campus, is not a necessity for the college to offer, but a privileged. I'll find out in January whether or not their actions have consequences not yet recognized.
They may come in one day and find the chairs have been removed.

I doubt we’ll ever know but it would be interesting to see what the relevant licensing board thinks of her crime when she applies for her physician license.
She is not even a medical student yet and now may never be one because of her behavior.

I fear the impact will be negative. I hope she had a Plan B.
Although it will be rather difficult to learn this way, this will be a good life lesson for little Skylar. Being a pre-med student, she should have been taking this more seriously.
I just saw some of her family being interviewed about not being able to see her at Christmas. While I'm sure they're disappointed, what about the people who won't see their family this Christmas or ever because someone broke precautionary protocols, and their loved one got COVID because of that person and didn't make it?

I'm thinking they may come back after the extended holiday vacation to find the college no longer offers a cafe on campus; musical chair situation be damned. I'm hoping I have exaggerated the outcome, because I have enjoyed working there with the ability to visit with some of the top students in STEM attending a faith based institution for their degree.
However, liken to that of the student in the Caymen --- the University has its rules and there are consequences for those not following those rules. And from what I understand, (rumored by those I work around) this University offering a cafe, is a rare find in this area. It is a privilege, not a necessity to provide dining options. And for all their high IQ's it is sometimes the most simple things in life that will allude, even the brightest of minds.
In this nation we are releasing violent criminals from prison so they don't catch a cold. In others, they throw people IN prison for violating the King's dictates.
Interesting almost all these people condemning her and approving of 4 months would want to release violent criminals.

It's the 11% (poll on student protestors shot & killed, being that of their fault) that came out of the culture of the 60s that won't condemn her --- mpov

You know ALL the people on Earth that want her to serve the 2 months??? Wow! That's quite a social circle!!
How DARE she face consequences for flouting their laws-though she COULD have gotten 5 years! I understand, though- rich little daddy's girls are above the law-God forbid their precious bundles of entitlement have to follow the laws of those lesser countries!! They should be bowing down that Her Majesty graced them with Her Presence!!!!
You privileged entitled people think rules and consequences are for the unwashed, and you all are above the rules, despite not contributing a thing of value to the world!! Nice!!
She broke the rules, and received a punishment. I don't see why everyone is whining about her being locked up. Like I heard someone in the news say "If she wasn't who she is, would anyone care?" It reminds me of the big thing over Natalie Holloway, who got stupid in a foreign country, and someone brought to the news attention that a young black woman had disappeared in Chicago, and no one would even carry that story.
Hopefully this woman learned a lesson from this, but I doubt it as "you can't fix stupid".
Heroic. We need people to break these asinine rules every minute of every day
Their country. Their laws.
The population in CI is about 65,000. There is one main road.
It does not have the infrastructure to handle a major outbreak or hospitalizations.
Most of the Caribbean island nations are taking similar stances , either a 14 day quarantine or no entry, for similar reasons. Some continue to ban all tourists.
