I predict now with their stooge in the WH. China will aggressively start using their military power around the globe including invading Taiwan.
Honestly I don't care if they do it or not. 20 years ago I would have been waving the flag around and saying we should support Taiwan. Today - nope. I'm sick and tired of the U.S. being the world's policeman.
If China and Taiwan want to duke it out - go right ahead. Not my concern.
Where's the need?
The Chinese have no need to invade Taiwan.
There's nothing the Taiwanese have the Chinese can't get if they don't have it already.
They are all the same people. There are still people in both countries who have living relatives they wish to see before they die. They all share the same languages, customs, and history.
The only things that divided them are now long gone, lost to the past. All both need now is some minor concessions to the other side, and the nations could live side by side peaceably, or conjoin once more into a single nation. As they choose and in their own good time.
4000 years of civilization didn't come in a day, and the Chinese learned long ago not to be impatient. They also know exactly how strong they are or not, and Chinese patience allows them the time they need to decide the course for both nations.
If China wants to be aggressive, it will be, and there's nothing we can do to stop them. But they won't use military aggression as a first choice, as it's not their way.
Currently it DOES, since the world revolves around the US dollar.
Not even that is true.
