NYC will recover beautifully, as it always has. After 9/11 the predictions were that there's be a big exodus and didn't happen. I'm leery of sensationalists wanting their 15 seconds of fame!

After 600 people were shot dead at an outdoor music festival in Las Vegas, over 2 years ago, the sensationalists were saying it was going to kill tourism to Las Vegas. Didn't happen and won't happen again even if 1000 are killed at a music event.

I don’t care for DeBlasio, this is because of COVID-19

Dirty real estate deals don't litter the streets, or defecate in them, or shoot up drugs in children's playgrounds, or set cars on fire, or rob people, or smash out windows.

It wasn't 600 people killed, it was 61. Granted, that's 61 too many. But still, there's a huge difference between those two numbers.

I have your answer...NEVER! I lived in Detroit during the great decline, and they voted Dem all the way into the gutters of bankrucy.

Don't hold your breathe waiting for them to have some great epiphany...not going to happen.

If you want, or need, change, they must be eliminated. Or, easier yet, just leave them there in squalor, and move away.

NYC has actually always been this way.

Big Cities around the world have always been dirty, seedy, and corrupt. Humans should be living out in nature, or close to it, and not some concrete jungle.

When towns become cities, it has become too big, has too many people, and need to depopulate. Or else it just becomes a drain on resources. NYC is the perfect example of this. It has often been called a parasite city and not for nothing. LA even because they have to siphon off water and damage the environment somewhere else.

All the resources are elsewhere so why have so many people clustered in one area? That situation makes those people heavily reliant on outside sources. That is why cities are heavily Democratic Party. They need more handouts.

Before the Kosher Nostra, we had Cosa Nostra. And before that was Tammany Hall, and various Irish Gangs. So yeh, corruption has been around cities for the longest time. Ras Al Ghul/Liam Neeson character from the Batman Begins movie had it right.

Well this is during the pandemic, but he did it before. Now DeBlasio does not have ultimate authority, but the Mayor's Office certainly has clout.

Dims get mad when people call cities run by loony lefties ****holes, but they are perfectly fine and comfortable with people ****ing on their streets. I think lefties need to get their priorities straight. Instead of worrying about what other people are saying about their cities, maybe they should actually be doing something to make these communities attractive and desirable places to live. But that might involve work, which is probably an offensive and forbidden word in their SJW dictionaries.
its not about work. its about the bleeding hearts that dont know how to say enough is enough.
