Minneapolis has been in the news this year for all the wrong reasons. After all, it is ground zero of the violent riots of this past summer, which largely happened because Minneapolis failed to get rioting under control on that infamous night of May 27. The rioters and anarchists saw they had free realm and went on to torch and of course loot large parts of the city, and copycats did the same in most major American cities and even as far away as London. And then of course the riots spurred a woke panic about racial justice, essentially labeling anyone white or not for BLM as a pariah unworthy of ever being in polite society and multinational corporations virtue signaling and vowing unparalleled "diversity" instead of actually hiring the most qualified people...
All this because of Minneapolis, a city that used to be considered safe and wholesome, if not boring. Anyone who ever watched the Mary Tyler Moore Show knows what I'm talking about. Nice, order loving, clean and friendly upper Midwesterners with a dry sense of humor. The leftists, crime ridden Minneapolis of today would be unrecognizable to people of that time. What on earth happened to Minneapolis and by extension, Minnesota?
Ahh, more people who watched a bit too much sensationalized news coverage on Fox News are now pretending to be experts about my hometown. Let me remind you that nothing would have happened here had there not been a string of avoidable tragedies caused by police officers which culminated in the killing of George Floyd. If you really want to prevent civil unrest going forward then let’s talk about meaningful police reform.

Idiotic statements like this is why the US is in decline with its cities in particular.

Actually, considering that police have encounters with 50 million people every year, many of them drug-impaired criminal thugs who are defying instructions, it is a testament to their restrain and judgment that a case like George Floyd is so exceedingly rare.

Go tell that to George Floyd’s family.
Go tell that to Justine Ruszczyk Damond‘s family.
Go tell that to Philando Castille’s family.
Go tell that to Jamar Clark’s family.
I’m guessing you have not studied these cases. Once you do you’ll have a better idea as to why there was civil unrest in Minneapolis this summer.
Ah, screw it. I’m white. Male, if that makes any difference. 60’s.
Finger pointing, it’s your fault, not mine. Me, responding to the accusations. Deer in the headlights.
Um, so....... what do you propose you should do about? Deer in the headlights response.
