Doesnt Chicago have the strictest gun regulations in the nation. To the libs out there. I thought according to you that strict gun laws would curb gun violence. So why isn’t it working in Chicago?

The number of homicides and shootings in Chicago spiked dramatically in 2020, ending with more bloodshed than in all but one year in more than two decades, statistics released by police on Friday revealed.

Good question... Whatever happened to Black Lives Matter? They very obviously don't matter when it comes to Black on Black homicides.

Kill away, homies. It's all good. /sarcasm

Obviously severe gun laws don't work when criminals are involved. Don't give the Dems any ideas because they might really crack down on the law abiding but of course the criminals still won't care so outright bans, buybacks and seizures is the answer. If people cannot control themselves which is obvious from all that senseless carnage in Chicago the Dems are more than happy to remove the deadly item and control the People themselves.

If strict gun laws don't work the answer the Dems would give us is to crack down even more. They will never see, question or blame the criminal that is so quick and eager to pull that trigger.

It is a sad fact that Black lives don't matter to the one group that could really make a positive change for themselves.

Actually, California does:

https://worldpopulationreview.com/st...-laws-by-state

One problem is this:

"Many states that have tight gun laws are surrounded by states that do not have strict gun laws. As a result, guns are often brought in from neighboring states".

Illinois's neighbors are Wisconsin and Indiana, with some of the laxest gun laws.

Also read:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...-gun-violence/

"In 2016, St. Louis had the highest rate of non-fatal shootings with 660 per 100,000 people. Chicago, in contrast, had just 89 per 100,000 people. New Orleans had the highest rate of homicides in 2016, with 47 per 100,000 people. Chicago, in contrast had 16 per 100,000."

My neighbor, Dallas, broke records in 2020:

My Fort Worth didn't fare any better:

https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/14...olice/2517032/

"Fort Worth has recorded 112 homicides in 2020, the most in 25 years. The total through the last day of 2019 was 71."

If people can't control themselves, no abortions then. They must give birth to and raise the child. Control yourselves. How about we just punish the criminals and let law abiding citizens have their guns, and abortions.

Oh, I see. We need to spread liberal restrictions into more and more areas, and only then will draconian laws start to work right.

Until the areas next to those newly-restricted states start bringing their guns into the expanding liberal utopia. And then we'll have to start spreading the restrictions and bans even farther into those areas too.

In other words, the cause of all the trouble, is "not enough liberalism". ANY remaining areas of freedom, will spoil it for the states we cracked down on.

Glad we cleared that up.

Richt? Trump talking point in his 2016 campaign is he could fix it.

(Yes I know it's not his responsibility -- but he's the one who took ownership of the problem by suggesting he had solutions.....).

The cops in Chicago are staying in their cars. Who the hell wants to get out to stop a crime when the people you are trying to protect start filming you, throwing things at you, and jeering.

Black Lives only matter in situations where white police officers are involved.
But when they're gunning each other down in the streets, that's apparently just business as usual, nothing to be concerned about.
