This is one of the reasons why I don't live in the US at the moment. I don't plan to retire there and will probably have to go back for a year or two before I retire to get my affairs in order.
The amount of violence and lack of respect and understanding of others is more than I care to live with.
Please don't provide platitudes about belief in a god because most of the murders are by christians. Most other countries don't behave with such blatant disrespect for life as is shown in the US. It's very sad.
I know lots of military families who choose consecutive overseas assignments so that they can raise their kids in peace and safety.

Says a lot about the US.
<yawn>...We get it! You hate America and love living in the far East or wherever it is you live. Thats great and all but you sound like a broken record.
Sucks but her boyfriend, if not she herself, should have been a bit more prepared. Things like this happen world wide, lets not kid ourselves. I hear folks from the UK bitching because of violent young people & knives.
If the news read "Assailant gets forehead perforated by armed victim" it would probably prevent dozens of crimes.

Actually, a few weeks ago, just down I-95 in Kentland, MD a 12-yr old boy with a knife killed a man who was abusing and beating his mother. Hasn't done much to stifle crime.

It did for that one! Stifle one crime at a time, I always say.
Especially if you're a brave 12 year old defending your mama. God bless 'im.

Thats not remotely similar or relevant. Though the kid deserves recognition for his courage its a shame he needed to be exposed to such things at his age.
I stand by my opinion that increased resistance to crime is the best way to fight it. An unprepared victim is a criminals best friend.

Didn't you say you were from SE Asia or something like that??? I have seen alot of instances of people getting killed over there, ran over by vehicles, falling out of buildings, getting annihilated on all of the motorcycles and scooters they drive around... and most of the time the crowds don't even flinch, people getting killed is so commonplace over there that its no shock (or to a much less degree) to anyone...
But yeah you really are a broken record as someone else stated...
The only one who professed to have made up his mind is you. Don't try to backtrack and re-define your first comment. I never stated that I had made up my mind so please don't put words in my mouth. Please go back and read your post to which I responded, it looks like you are now blaming me for not having expressed your inner thoughts as effectively in your written words the first time out.
If you don't want to believe that people can commit murder "just because" then that is your prerogative. All I said was that I disagree with your comment, and apparently that doesn't sit well with you.
What justification for killing the woman would satisfy you, btw?
OMG OMG!!! He killed a WOMAN over a cigarette... a cigarette!!!!!!!!! Hes insane!!! Where is he!?! Hide the smokes!!!! Lock up the kids!!!! The Marlboro man is on the loose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you think your rational would fly in Court??? Hell no!! He is innocent until proven guilty. Maybe the lady deserved it, maybe they knew each other... maybe she baby-sat one of his kids and threw the kid out the window... you dont know the premise... don't assume like you are so quick to do. Don't be a dramatic, media controlled puppet like everyone else.
Get your facts straight, your ducks in a row then start pointing fingers. There could have very well been a dispute between the two, and MAYBE THERE WASNT! You don't know now do you??? All you see is MURDER OVER A SINGLE CIGARETTE blah blah blah. Pull your head out of the sand!!!

I never said that I hated America; I will say that I abhor the violent culture.
Of course, I couldn’t expect you to understand that they’re different.

And accidents are murder now?
You’d be surprised at how few motorcycle accidents there are for the number of them on the road in all of southeast Asia.
I do repeat why I stay away from the violent culture in the US every time one of you post about senseless murders and the violence encountered on a regular basis.
