Today, the DC Circuit completely eviscerated Trump’s Affordable Clean Energy plan and chastised Trump’s EPA for their willful misinterpretation of the law. (https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...ut-by-a-court/)

This ruling gives Biden’s EPA the freedom to truly propel renewable and clean energy into action, unburdened by the shackles Trump attempted to place on environmental regulation. As Trump's presidency comes to its fated, ignominious end, I want to close it out with positivity, hope, and an eye towards a brighter future for ALL Americans. Clean energy seems like a wonderful place to start.

Many of us have worked hard to make this happen: Arizona did not happen overnight, nor did Georgia. We worked hard to make this moment possible, despite the threats of violence, and actual violence. We made it happen by voting and by engaging so that issues as simple as clean air can become a reality under the Biden administration.

The real work starts tomorrow. Be well all.

Similar goals nearly bankrupted Germany, and resulted in a rush program to build coal fired power plants to fill the gap. Net effect was more air pollution than before when it was realized that windmills are not economically feasible yet, and that solar panels only work when the sun is shining. Now Germany is potentially forever dependent on Russian Oil and natural gas. Prices of electricity went through the roof and all other fuels became more expensive than before. A complete failure.

What a frickin' tool. We seem to be unable to learn a thing. Until there is a viable way to store grid-scale energy, "renewables" are a joke, that jeopardize our grid.

The chemicals involved in creating that "clean" energy are worse on the environment.
And now you will have solar waste...waste which cannot be put in landfills due to the heavy chemicals.

https://www.cfact.org/2019/09/15/the...waste-problem/

But, you say, solar energy is clean, green, and mean – and taking over the world one massive array at a time. Isn’t that what we have all been told?

The truth can be brutal. The average lifespan of a solar panel is about 20 years, but high temperatures (as in the Mojave Desert) can accelerate the aging process for solar cells, and snow, dust, and other natural events (tornadoes, earthquakes),can cause material fatigue on the surface and in the internal electric circuits – gradually reducing the panel’s power output.

Solar panels generate 300 times more toxic waste per unit of energy than nuclear power plants. They also contain lead, cadmium, and other toxic (even carcinogenic) chemicals that cannot be removed without breaking apart the entire panel. Worse, rainwater can wash many of these toxics out of the fragments of solar modules over time.

Nuclear may not be "renewable" but it's effectively unlimited. We have more reactors online than anyone else, only one has had a little problem.

I wonder how many kids today even have a clue how dramatically their parents and grandparents have cleaned up the world? Cars and trucks used to belch out all kinds of awful stuff out the tailpipes. Electricity for vast regions of the Country used to be made by burning coal. Some factories used to dump chemicals into rivers because there was no other place to put it. Sensible innovations were made because all people agreed that clean air and water would be nice, and they were willing to pay extra for it. The current batch of clean air folk are asking for unreasonable standards at unreasonable expense, and many experts and common people are not willing to go along with unreasonable standards.

All efforts were being cancelled. Do you remember global warming, ozone layer hole ...? They are coming up with new terms every now and then. All old folks are environment insensitive. That is the leftists wanting the kids to believe.
