Gf put one of their shows on the other day. Tucker Carlson.
Oh... my... no wonder the rights so messed up. It wasn’t news. It wasn’t facts. WAs just droning on with some whining. I couldn’t take it. Usually just see like 30 second clips. Actually having the show on was depressing.
Yeah I can't handle watching Tucker or Hannity. However, around 40% of the country believes every word these people tell them and they are their sources for facts. And when you get down to it, it's because these people tell them their fear of brown people and gay people is justified.
There needs to be a rival network to the others, if nothing more than to provide fact-checking. If they find misrepresentations in the other networks, they can post links to credible information (and some not so credible) to rebut the CNN/NYT claims.
Fact-checking sites in general are waste of time because they're funded by special interests.

TRANSLATION: I couldn't refute anything he said. I'm SO depressed.

People will generally only watch news that confirms their biases. I'd love to see opinion shows go back to two-sided like they used to be in the 90s and early 2000s. Hannity was on Fox with Alan Colmes so you got a conservative and a liberal perspective (though Colmes was a very moderate liberal). Tucker Carlson was on CNN with Paul Begala. It was much better back then, in my opinion.

Basically, everything challenging or debunking the conspiracy is part of the conspiracy and is not to be believed. You want to believe the conspiracy so you'll believe whatever evidence you can find to support it but reject any that doesn't.
There really isn't much for them to worry about. In recent months, Fox has flipped from a slightly right-center network to another left of center one. Their business has plummeted. IIRC for the first time in a decade or more their viewership was below CNN in the last 2 months. WAPO doesn't have to worry about having the government shut them down, the have done so themselves by becoming yet another left-wing echo chamber, focusing on manipulation and propaganda rather than news. In short, they have largely become another CNN, MSNBC, WAPO, NBC, NYT, etc.
Not really, but right now there's no room for disagreement at all among the right. If you don't worship at the altar of God's chosen man Donald Trump, you are a far leftist.
LOL. The Washington Post and the rest of the liberal media, which makes up 98% of the media is the real threat to our democracy.
Look how they cover for the Democrats, who on paper is for racism, open borders, selling out to China, globalization, etc. but yet the public keeps voting for them and the only reason is because that liberal is brainwashing most of that public.

Why is it that so many liberals can't think beyond their knee-jerk emotional reactions? Concern about the impact of illegal immigration, and support for the traditional understanding of marriage, do not constitute "fear" of brown or gay people.
