umm, you might want to stick to your strong point, which is there was no differentiation between legal and illegal migrants.

One, the majority of illegals do not pay taxes. You had to file a tax return to get the stimulus.

Second, if you read your own article, you would know MARCH was the single biggest month, at $4B. Stimulus checks didn't go out until May.

Thus third, even if they DID get stimulus checks and sent those home, then one would naturally conclude the "stimulus money month" would be the largest month of remittances.

Sounds like they are here on a seasonal visa. Nothing wrong with that. It's the ones who are here illegally that are the problem.

BTW, there are other reasons why Americans won't take those jobs. Most Americans want year round employment. Plus the ones who are unemployed are mostly in the urban or suburban areas and thus don't have reliable transportation to the fields.

There is a "robust visa program" for them that doesn't have any caps on it. Yet many farmers refuse to use it and instead use cheap, illegal, exploitable labor. Meanwhile, more and more farm work is being mechanized.

Dem deflection. If Trump were King and had unilateral authority to enact legislation regarding immigration, this wouldn't have happened. I have to ask - are you a US citizen? Did you graduate from high school? You seem to have no understanding of how our government works. Democrats did everything they could, including misuse of the judicial system, to prevent implementation of Trump's immigration policy. The media was complicit with their constant wailing and gnashing of teeth about the alleged horrors of Trump's immigration policy. As such, the blame for the outflow of US money via immigrants to other countries is 100% on the Dems. Dear Democrats: if you're going to push idiotic policies, at least be willing to accept the consequences. Blaming your failings on Trump is getting tiresome.

The theft of Social Security numbers

In 2013, the Social Security Administration’s Office of the Chief Actuary estimated that more than 40 percent of all illegal aliens working in the U.S. were doing so using fake or stolen SSNs. Elsewhere, the office has put the figure as high as 75 percent. And the crime is as serious as it is widespread.

Money sent home by Mexican migrants rose 11.4% in 2020 to a new high despite the coronavirus pandemic, Mexico’s central bank reported Tuesday.

Posting numbers without context is disingenuous at best, intentionally misleading at worst. That $40B is .191% of the US GDP. We'll get over it. Furthermore, how much tax did we collect (even illegals have to pay sales tax, property tax, etc) from illegal immigrants? Again, stop cherry picking data to further your agenda.

IRS defends paying refunds to illegals who never filed taxes

The IRS is defending its decision to let illegal immigrants claim up to three years’ refunds on income even if they never paid income taxes, telling Congress in a new letter last week that agency lawyers have concluded getting a Social Security number triggers the ability to go back and ask for previous refunds.

You say Democrats "misused" the judicial system. What do you mean by that. Misuse implies bad faith, which also implies sanctions. Were any Democrats sanctioned for this misuse? No? Or do you mean to say "Democrats used courts to affect outcomes supportive of liberal immigration policy"? In that vein, when courts do side with Democrats, what are you really complaining about? Are you complaining that the Administrative Procedure Act is too cumbersome, or are you just complaining that the law sometimes favors an outcome that Democrats prefer? I wonder.

How many liberal media organizations have seats in Congress? How many liberal media organizations are president? Are you suggesting that the media influenced policy, or that media somehow used magic/deep state/whatever to thwart Trump?

That's the thing that always gets me. Trump supporters always decry Democrats and the media for getting in Trump's way. But for 2 years the GOP had a trifecta+SCOTUS. Democrats literally could not stop Trump, so long as whatever the GOP wanted could get 50 votes in the Senate. Take some of your own advice: accept the consequences. Trump was incompetent, and that's why he lost.

Obama continues to have achieved the largest deportation numbers.

During the 2016 campaign, depending on his audience, Trump referred to Obama as the Deporter en Chief, contrary to other messaging.

I remain fascinated with how Texas and Florida combined have more undocumented people than California, despite very different politics.

Texas has not pursued a mandatory EVerify. While Florida did, one could drive a truck through the intended loop holes, the biggest of which, eVerify does not apply to independent contractors which most undocumented workers are. Tourism/ hospitality and agriculture are the big economic drivers in Florida and are top employers of undocumented labor.

No wall is high enough nor patrols deep enough so long as US people continue to employ undocumented people.
