...You do know the Buzzfeed story was satire, right?
Yes partly, was half tongue in cheek but based in truth, and nearly 5 years later what was satire is now reality. Have a look at the user comments below and see how offended and humorless all the responding Millenials are hence proving the point
Also note Babylon Bee articles that were ridiculous ended up coming to fruition in 2020
Their parents are to blame too. Buy them cell phones when they're really young. Kid turns sixteen, gets their driver's license, and Mommy & Daddy buy them a car. Ridiculous.
Not sure I agree with the whole list though. There are some great kids out there who work really hard and are ambitious.
this is not a millenial thing. my parents' generation were excited to get their license as soon as they were of legal age.
if anything, millenials are the opposite. they have the internet, so face to face meetups are less important. they also have other mobility options like ride sharing and e-scooters
I am GenX, parents are The Silent Generation. I have a lot more hope for Millennials than I do for Boomers. Boomers are tearing us apart.
No argument there - the Boomers are the establishment and clutching to the death their hold on power and trying to stamp out the populist uprising. But they are using the Millenials as their foot soldiers to do it

no, tribalism is tearing us apart and the media is enabling that.
they'll pit white vs black, rich vs poor, gen x vs millenial vs boomer, left vs right, Dem vs Rep... anything for clicks and views to make a buck.
Boomers destroyed the future prospects of the millennial generation.
I do think Millennials are the new silent generation. There are some who are doing well, but most Millennials will be middle age going into later adulthood by the time the economy actually works again (if it ever does). Boomers want to blame Millennials for being lazy and entitled, and there are some who are like every generation, but Millennials are victims of coming of age during a terrible time in American history. Boomers are fortunate to have come of age and enjoyed the greatest economic boom this country has ever seen, yet they BLAME Millennials for not being able to pull off the same quality of life they did in the midst of the worst economy since the 1930s.
Also, in 2021 the youngest Millennials are in their twenties. They are no longer teens and college students.
People do realize that lots of millennials are turning 40 now, right? And mid-career.
Keep us GenXers and our GenZ kids out of the Boomer/Millennial fights, we're all right!

Other than the cell phone thing (because they didn't exist), that describes half my class in high school. Graduated 1985.
Lots of young people I know now have delayed delay getting their licences, because it costs more and has more levels and hoops to jump through. I had my full licence on the day I turned 16, no supervision, no restrictions. That can't happen now in a lot of jurisdictions.
Only if your worldview is that others are supposed to provide for you and you're not responsible for building your own life and society
"It's not my fault"
"It's someone else's fault"
"I'm a victim"
People have to play the hand that history deals them. Many Millennials did exactly what they were supposed to do. It was your generation that pushed everyone to go to college after high school and get degrees and now you want to say they are stupid for doing so.
Your generation came of age during the best of times.
