Pretty sure many states such as Texas would appreciate it by now.

This is not a complete argument. Short term trends (in this case very short) are not reliable in determining long term weather. Last year in Florida they had one of the hottest and longest summers on record. Does this support global warming? Almost every day in December was cooler than average. Basically, short term weather means nothing in the larger scheme of things.

Do people really not know the difference between weather and climate?

It's like those people that don't know the difference between deficit and debt.

Perhaps a demonstration of failed education. But then again, I understand that a lot of people here didn't go to school in America.

Climate change caused warm episodes in the arctic and extreme cold weather in the eastern U.S.
It's called the "Warm Arctic Cold Continents" effect

Warm Arctic episodes linked with increased frequency of extreme winter weather in the United States

Note the above article was published in 2018. The Texas event followed the described pattern exactly.

Makes perfect sense.
Warmer weather proves that man has caused global warming, and cooler weather also proves that man caused global warming.
Notice that the weather in North America cooled off after we rejoined the Paris Climate accord. That's all it took.

Oh, yeah

Difference between weather and climate...

Weather - can't be debated because we see it in real time.

Climate - can be continuously debated and molded into any idea imaginable since it usually references predictions that extend into an undefined future time frame.

According to the left, most of the warm air moved to the north pole, and the cold air in that region was not having any of the warm air's tomfoolery, so it all moved to Texas. This is their official narrative.

Pretty sure The Weather Company, an IBM Business, doesn't know how to forecast winter climate:

"Winter Outlook 2020-21: Mild Temperatures Could Dominate Southern, Eastern U.S."
