Yes, this appears to be the woke, progressive way. They emphasize skin color instead of working to ignore it. They are undoing decades of work done by racial justice folks. Skin color, instead of your character, is now your primary identifier.
Why???? All of this behavior simply divides us. I'll make a joke of the matter because it just came to me so here goes...
A 4th grader walks into his new math class and is handed their textbook. They open the book and thumb thru the contents. Student raises their hand and says "where are the chapters on adding and subtracting?" The teacher then replies, oh that's an old way of thinking, all we teach these days is division."
Surely I jest, but jeez, it's a crazy world out there.
Chalk it up to a Boomer Moment here, but I'm now in my 50s and I don't get it....not sure I want to get it because it doesn't make any sense to me.

I don't get it either. They espouse diversity and acceptance and are the first to segregate themselves.

One big OXYMORON of a movement.
They use a different dictionary. Diversity means diversity in demographics even if everyone believes and espouses the same ideology (white supremacy, systemic racism, white male patriarchy, etc.). Inclusion doesn’t even mean what you think. It means they’re inclusive to those that agree with them (white supremacy, systemic racism, white male patriarchy, etc.). If you don’t believe me try espousing the idea that there’s no such thing as white privilege in your next DIE reprogramming course at your next HR training session. See how many of them are for diversity and inclusion. Equity is a whole other discussion.

They scrape and scramble and exaggerate narratives about "lefties" to try and distance themselves from their own ilk! The dignified and proper thing to do would be to confront the racists in their own ranks, but that is NEVER going to happen. So, instead they climb up on the high horse that is "the other guy does it too!
Problem with all this is that despite racism having universal human roots, the left often confronts it in their own ranks, but the right rarely does and instead chooses to create deflections and diversions like this one.
Advise to the right: if you REALLY care about racism and have the strength of conviction, confront it amongst yourselves. Then you can throw stones. Then we can all put a stop to it, instead of making it a talking point.
But that will not happen, because overt racism doesn't bother the right, it is just a tool to obfuscate and avoid taking any responsibility for change.
