People should be prevented from voting. When the system is set up to allow people to vote to take things from other people, it's wrong to allow everyone to vote. The "takers" should not be allowed to vote.

It used to embarrass Republicans, but they did it anyway. Now they are no longer embarrassed, they just do it.
It is amazing how much of what the left does and then turns around and projects it onto their ideological foe.

Embarrassed?
Let me know when the last time a famous (D) has shown genuine remorse and embarrassment for what they have done?
It certainly isn't the Cuomo types, as they can make blundeous decisions that actually killed people, then get on nightly TV (to a fawning leftist press) and toot their own horns. Heck even write a book about how great they were.
Then even leftist women mostly give him a pass for multiple accusations of sexual impropriety, but he will not step down in shame.

As to not winning a popular vote, you must be talking about some other countries system of electing their governments leader. As you know, we thankfully have the EC that taks into account "flyover country" and rural America.
Just because heavily populated urban hellholes vote (D) more than the rest of America, (R's) still are in touch with traditional America.

So you think Democrats would continue winning if only informed citizens voted?

I’d be all for passing a test to demonstrate you are an informed and competent voter. I can’t imagine this would help Democrats much as they have a hard enough time just getting an ID, never mind also passing a test to show they are informed.

The Democrats cater to low information and low motivation voters, which is why getting an ID, registering to vote, and finding/going to a voting location is such a struggle for them.

Funny. This is the same statement I made after the latest presidential fiasco election, only I reversed the parties...the Republicans are going to have to play dirty just like the left does...

Were there cases when voters changed their mind after being offered water and a cookie? Not really. Are cases of massive fraud with boxes? Not known. Where there cases of large number of deceased people “voting” and swaying election results? Unknown of. Were any known cases of thousands ballots mailed to unregistered people which made it possible for them to vote? Unknown of.

As such what justifies the recent drive to solve these “problems”?
Like I said, it opens the door up for coercion. In most cases it would be food and drink and be completely innocent, in others it could be offering cash as well to vote a certain way...The voters waiting in line should be left alone. That's already the standard anyway. If a person wants a drink or food then they can walk over there themselves.

I love Bill Maher. He comedy is non-partisan. He points out the hypocrisy on both sides.

This time the hypocrisy belongs to Republicans. (I won't say conservatives, because today's Republican Party is anything but conservative.)

Case in point above.

Despite what you may believe, voting in order to "take things from other people" is not how most Liberals/Democrats operate. But whether or not they do, the Constitution and various amendments guarantee their right to vote. Republicans don't have the right to take the voting rights of other away just because they disagree with their choices.

Without a doubt the most uninformed group of voters out there right now are the hard core Trump supporters. Half of the posters in this forum wouldn't be allowed to vote. You think that hurts Democrats?

Then Democrats should have no problem with a universal voter ID and some kind of competency test in order to vote. Yet, I see the Democratic Party saying the exact opposite, that such measures disproportionately impact their voter base. What does that say about their base?
