Those old enough to remember the Waco massacre that happened with the blessing of Bill Clinton's AG Janet Reno will appreciate this great article from American Greatness. Innocent men, women and children were incinerated at the hands of federal agents and none were ever held accountable. That cult was call the Branch Davidians.

I've always had a personal interest in cults and how apparently intelligent people can get caught up in them. A few friends from my high school class of 72 got caught up in several of the popular quasi-religious cults of the time. This prompted me to read up on contemporary cults. I also had a cult leader move into the rental house across the street from me in the mid 90's, where the local chapter met regularly and they even attempted to recruit my wife and I. Cults haven't gone away. They just have the blessing of the federal government now.

the difference between a Cult and a Religion is often simply size. Christianity was at one time considered nothing but a Cult. It's disturbing sometimes to think that way but its pretty much truthful. a few hundred people worshiping the gigantic spaghetti monster is a cult 100 million doing so makes it a religion.

It does seem a bit distasteful for this article to call them Branch Covidians which obviously brings up the massacre.

Orthodox Christianity, no. The word 'Cult' actually came about because of unorthodox Christianity.

It's only distasteful if it's not applicable. If you examine the empirical data regarding the mask facade, which many medical professionals have affirmed is just that, a facade, I'd say it the Covidian label is quite appropriate.

Well we haven't gone far enough down that path yet.

The poor people of St Vincent in the Caribbean are facing the "cult" right now.
Volcano erupted; mandatory evacuations underway.

Other islands will only take vaccinated people.
Hotels will only allow vaccinated people.
The island only got it's second shipment of vaccines 2 days ago so the majority of residents haven't even had 1 shot yet...less than 1% are vaccinated.

"Oh well..they weren't vaccinated" ????? Is that the sentiment ?

I realize that I'm talking to a wall here but it is articles like this one that kind of present where the six foot and three foot rules came from.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17542834/

Quote:
Practical implications: Our study reveals that for respiratory exhalation flows, the sizes of the largest droplets that would totally evaporate before falling 2 m away are between 60 and 100 microm, and these expelled large droplets are carried more than 6 m away by exhaled air at a velocity of 50 m/s (sneezing), more than 2 m away at a velocity of 10 m/s (coughing) and less than 1 m away at a velocity of 1 m/s (breathing). These findings are useful for developing effective engineering control methods for infectious diseases, and also for exploring the basic transmission mechanisms of the infectious diseases. There is a need to examine the air distribution systems in hospital wards for controlling both airborne and droplet-borne transmitted diseases.
So effectively, six feet (2 meters) is a safe distance to limit droplets from reaching another person except for coughing and sneezing. Thus wearing a mask would limit the distance that droplets can travel if you were to cough or sneeze. It is a bit complicated because COVID 19 is not completely droplet and not completely airborne (aerosol).

And so is the current pandemic.

I see zombies driving in cars or walking alone with masks on.
