From your link:

3: Florida has more affordable property than many other states
4: Florida doesn’t collect an individual Income Tax
23: Florida’s economy is booming – big time

Seems the Sheriff has a better understanding of why people are moving to Florida than you do.

He obviously has no idea what he’s talking about, and a red state that’s thriving obviously has him extremely displeased, especially with a Governor that has no time for riff-raff rioting throughout Florida.

LMAO. Who said anyone would change their minds? Dems will whine and cry as usual, but they’ll still come to Florida.

Nah, the circus is in the Dem states/cities. That’s why DeSantis signed an anti riot bill so Florida doesn’t become one of those cesspools.

I live in South Tampa. Florida cities have some nice affluent areas, where I live feels like Jersey with ****tier weather (IMO) and more beaches. I don't normally encounter "florida man" unless I venture out of my part of the city. Seriously I mostly like Florida but there is a handful of places I would live in, and Polk county doesn't make the list.

umm, those things are all part of the cost of living, how much you get paid, how much does it cost to live there, how much of what you make you get to keep. What do you think COL encompasses?

Have you looked at property taxes. Mind you I'm in South Carolina where property and even state taxes aren't bad at all.

What do you consider high property taxes?

It's all relative I guess.

4500 for a house valued at about 350K (Bradenton area).

In my community just under 1600 for a house valued at 450K.

Now I know north easterners would see either one as a deal.

And ...isn't property insurance more expensive in Florida?
