It might be a good thing. I don't want employees with that attitude.
I think it's natural for a low wage job that sucks. And, even if a person just loves the job anyway but NEEDS THE MONEY, it's legit for it to suck to be one of the few called back to earn less.
My neighbor's daughter loves her job, is good at her job, but her reward for that was being one of the few kept on during the shout down for less days than usual. So she wasn't even earning what she usually did, as opposed to the less qualified employees getting extra money.
When I worked at fast food as a teen, it was definitely just for the money. It wasn't for the satisfaction of mopping floors and cleaning the corn machine. ugh, I hated that. I did enjoy the rest of the work. I enjoyed being the best too, at any job I had. But if someone would have given me the same money to have more time to study, more time to sleep, more time to have fun........
It was the same in college, I had a great work ethic and always got promoted but I would have rather had parents to give me credit cards instead!
Those kids had plenty of time to devote to studying and to relax too. School is a full time job.
Once upon a time there was a presidential candidate who stood in front of the people telling us he was smart for paying almost no taxes, to save himself some money.
Why would you work if you can make more not working, isn't that also smart?
If it's fine for someone to use creative accounting to avoid taxes why is it not fine for people to avoid menial work that doesn't pay as much as not working? When the federal unemployment ends, these jobs will be filled again.
I don’t think anybody is blaming those exploiting the system. I think it is more of a sense of befuddlement that it is made so easy to do. I can guarantee you cheating the taxman takes more skill.
Maybe in Sept when the extra UE bonus ends people will venture back out into the job market.

My sister is disabled. Has been since birth. I can afford to take care of her on my own. Do I have her on SSI, SSDI, TANF?
