I'm in consulting.

I get paid either way. In fact, very rarely do people actually implement what we recommend which is kind of baffling but as long their check clears...more power to ya.

This is how I learned many business owners are simply capital/usury leveragers that rely on what I call government-induced business models (franchises being the main one) to make their money. And most of them didn't earn that initial money to put in so there's that little tidbit.

If you pay for my services and I recommend that you do X, Y, and Z but you have to actually work instead of processing the model and God forbid spend money upfront so that your employees cannot only be well-trained but make a better wage then that's a no go. They'd rather just use employees as warm bodies.

All of this is fine, mind you, on both ends. If you want to be a crappy business owner that's your right. If you want to be a crappy employee that's your right too as long as you don't get canned. It's just that all of a sudden we have a large segment of the business-owning population crying that nobody wants to work and people are demanding more in wages.

That tells me they are horrible owners and even worse human beings.

LOL. Anyone in consulting gets to be stunned at how things dont change that should.

And learn the above fundamental truth.

Theres no reason the minimum should have stayed flat this long as inflation ate away at it. If peoples businesses can't afford to pay people that, then your business relies upon paying so little that its employees needed state support.

Walmarts business model involves taking advantage of employees and being subsidized by taxpayers in order to sell products made in China at low prices.

Is this what you all are defending?

That's where it all started.
That's the root of today's problems ( when it comes to salaries/small business) in America.

(My skilled professional earned $70,000.j What I would have done if I were forced to raise the part-timer to $15 would be to abolish her position, add her duties to the receptionist, offer the receptionist a raise to $40,000.

The result: The receptionist would be very happy with the 15% raise, and I would have saved a few thousand in compensation costs. The only one not happy would be the part-timer, who lost her job.

Now multiply that scenario by 10 or 20 million small businesses, and you’ll see the problem.
Higher unemployment is the result. That is a big problem.

Only 2% of workers make the federal minimum wage and half are under 25 years old. This is a non issue pushed by envious class warriors.
