If I had to guess, which I am now, it would be so their friends and family know they are safe to be around.
Nobody is allowed in my home if they have not received the vaccine and I am as far from Democrat or Liberal as one can get.
Why? Are you worried your vaccine won't protect you? Or is is just on principal and you're one of those tolerant people who can't seem to let others do their own thing?
Well maybe I'm going to start posting that I'm not vaccinated just to make peoples heads explode..
I'm vaccinated. Recently, came across a woman who chose not to be vaccinated because of religious reasons.
I won't go into details for privacy but will say this woman wanted others to make special accommodations for her because she chose not to be vaccinated.
To me Facebook allows people who are no longer physcially close together to stay in touch to a certain degree. I've moved around a fair amount since I graduated high school, as have many of my friends. Between the friends I am no longer in close contact with from grade school, then college, then my year aborad.then my jobs after college, then law school, then my jobs and volunteer gigs after law school, Facebook offers a way to at least keep in some contact with that number of people that would be hard to keep in touch with by writing letters or even emails. I see a lot of posts on C-D about Facebook from a politival standpoint, but that is not, I think, what most people do with it. I ignore political posts and ads on Facbook and focus in on keeping up with my friends from the various plces I have lived. That iswhat my firends seem to do with it and really what most people do with it, I think. And they share when they get vaccinated. Just like they share pictures of what they cook for dinner Saturday night, pictures of their kids at soccer practice and various othr vinutae of their lives that helps us all keep in touch. I don;t see the problem with that.
I'm on FB because that's the only way I can connect with my far flung relatives. We have great conversations and it's interesting to know how everybody is. Everyone I hang out with has been fully vaccinated--a lot of them aren't on FB but we all feel much more free to go almost anywhere with a very reduced risk of contracting COVID.
Actually no, its all about being one step closer to herd immunity.
Herd immunity....for sheep maybe.
