I'd really love to get paid just to stay home.

But unfortunately, I still have to work because I have to help pay the way for those that do stay home. Even though they're able to work. But simply doesn't want to work.

It sure looks nice to see people constantly sit on their porch, drinking and barbecuing all the time. Having no care in the world.

If they've got it so good, quit and try out the "carefree life" for yourself. Nothing stopping you.

No, I want to be a productive member of society. Shocker, right?

Besides, I could never retire. It's what keeps me sane. Keeps my mind off things I rather keep locked away. Too much idle time makes my mind race.

PEOPLE FORGET THAT the first 10k in UI is tax free. Then there's rental assistance for anyone affected by covid.
In my state that's up to $1,000 a month.

I'm sure there are other covid benefits given out on the state level that I missed.

Tell me why you would want to work and lose all that freebie?

This is the most stupid gov't policy ever.

In my state UI is capped at $362/wk. Add in the $300/wk Fed money and that's a whopping ~$31K/yr.

People working jobs making $35-40K/yr typically can't afford to just choose to take a 10%+ pay cut.

Unemployment kicker payments from the Fed Gov are not the root cause of this issue.

(anyone offended turn your sarcasm detector on)

As always there are people on both ends. Some lazy riding the gravy train. Some looking diligently in their field.

I saw a funny meme on FB today. It had a chubby kid stating that he got a trophy for showing up while others got one for actually competing. The next photo had a fat sloppy guy stating that he is getting paid for staying home while others do the work. The point was that our society has created this lazy attitude.

Off course it is, most of the jobs having a hard time hiring are low paying jobs. Restaurant, Grocery, retail..etc.

Most of these people know these jobs have high turnover anyway and easy to find and hired.
They will wait til sept once the freebies are over and just find one of those jobs.
But I m sure they are hoping the stupid gov't will extend it again and again till infinity.

Again, add in the rent free and other benefits it's pretty juicy.
