And if the "journalists" cared about racism, they wouldn't play her game.
One Latino reporter had an interview scheduled with her and canceled it due to her stance on "white people".

Lightfoot has taken heavy criticism for banning White reporters from speaking with her, with one Latino Chicago Tribune reporter saying he had canceled his scheduled interview with her in protest.
"Fact is, elected officials, candidates, celebrities, athletes etc. choose who they want to interview them all the time. They just don't do so on the basis of race or gender. Or at least they don't admit they do," the Washington Post's Paul Farhi tweeted.
"As @chicagosmayor reaches her two year midway point as mayor, her spokeswoman says Lightfoot is granting 1 on 1 interviews - only to Black or Brown journalists," tweeted NBC 5 Chicago political reporter Mary Ann Ahern.) (MY OP i bet she gets away with it!! )
I caught Tucker last night talking about this story. I've struggled with the word equity for a good while now. Tucker pretty much articulated the real and true meaning of the word equity.
It really does now mean suppressing one group and giving priority to another based on traits one can't control, such as race. It's the textbook definition of racism really.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are now just pretty much code words for non-whites get priority. When put into practical application there is no other way to really see it.
It's a shame we're getting to this point, where this stuff is tolerated more and more. It's going to do no good for the country.
Not to mention that it's a blatant violation of the 1964 Civil Rights act and people are going to have to start dragging people into court and getting lawyer involved.
I can see a couple major lawsuit payouts nipping some of this cancer in the bud, let's hope anyway.
People ... instead of rhetoic to demonize. Realize this is on one day her anniversary in office and seeing a largely predominantly White press pull for the city media. It is a POINT on how White the press coup is even in Chicago. Not some ban.
Of course it became a Woke agenda and more.
Title: Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot defends decision to only allow Black and Brown journalists interviews for her second anniversary.
-CHICAGO — To mark the second anniversary of her swearing-in, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Tuesday that she would only grant one-on-one interviews to Black and Brown journalists.
She defended her decision during her one and one with WGN’s Tahman Bradley.
Lightfoot’s claim that Chicago newsrooms lack diversity spark heated talks about race
“ when we are looking at the two-year anniversary of my inauguration, as a woman of color, as a lesbian, it’s important to me that diversity is put front in center,” Lightfoot said.
There are some who call this a bold move and others who say it is wrong.
- The principle behind it aside, .
- It is no secret her support in the Black community is not strong right now, and this could be a way to try to increase that support.
