imagine what their current life must be in order to even CONSIDER this. Imagine living in that kind of desperation.

As for the kids, they are here. Are we going to punish them for the choices of "their useless parents"?
I get the impression that more of those parents are already here. And at least some large (may be a majority, may be 80%, who knows) are here illegally.

You might notice they say "try to locate family members that are already in the US."

It has no bearing on anything, anyway.

The most vocally opposed are usually the ones who are also religious and listen to their priests, ministers, and rabbis talk about charity and helping others. Such a huge disconnect. That's game-playing right there.
what wonderful and unproven assertions.

of course, the easy retort is to say "we could spend those billions on America's poor instead"

and here I remember when Trump would say "America First", that he was decried as xenophobic.

Let me give you a hint - we're all Americans. I believe Democrats want to spend tax money on American citizens and their safety and their collective interests. And I also believe - heck, I know, based on the Republicans I do know - that the Republicans do as well.

There's no reason to demonize your opponent, especially your fellow citizens. It's not getting us anywhere.

Lying may not be breaking laws but that is what most of them are doing so why are you defending them? Statistically 80% are making bogus asylum claims. Illegal aliens are breaking laws! The stupid nonsense is defending either of those two groups. I'll reply to any post that I want! Who appointed you moderator of this forum?

When German Immigrants Were America’s Undesirables
...
“They’re overwhelmingly rural people,” he said. “In the countries they come from, fourth-, fifth-, sixth-grade educations are kind of the norm. They don’t speak English … They don’t integrate well; they don’t have skills.”

Kelly was talking specifically about immigrants from Latin American countries. But a century before, this line of thinking was used against another group that didn’t seem to be able to “assimilate”... German Americans.
thanks for the link

Quote:
By 1917 these immigrants who came to Cincinnati or St. Louis or Milwaukee or New York or Baltimore were fully integrated into American society,” says Richard E. Schade, a German studies professor at the University of Cincinnati. But when the U.S. entered World War I, these immigrants came up against a new “anti-German hysteria.”

Because Germany was one of America’s adversaries in the war, many Anglo-Americans began to fear that German Americans were still loyal to the Kaiser, or German emperor.

Because the statistics have been reported. More than 80% of asylum claims are bogus.

I guess it depends on the age of the children in question. Are we talking 6/7 year olds or are we talking 16/17 year old kids?
