Amazon founder Jeff Bezos paid no income tax in 2007 and 2011. Tesla founder Elon Musk’s income tax bill came to zero in 2018. And financier George Soros went three straight years without paying federal income tax, according to a report out Tuesday from the nonprofit investigative journalism organization ProPublica.

Overall, the richest 25 Americans pay less in tax — an average of 15.8% of adjusted gross income — than many ordinary workers do, once you include taxes for Social Security and Medicare, ProPublica found.

ROFLMAO...

Taxes aren't based on any type of budget.

If they were, you'd have negative income because you'd have to pay the government just to have the privilege of working at all.

Let's pretend for a second that I made 10 million and you made 80K. My 15% (not true, it's a lot higher than that ) is a lot higher in actual dollars than your 30% (if you pay that much with all the credits and deductibles).
What it is in "actual dollars" is irrelevant in this discussion. Since 10 million in actual dollars is a lot more than 80K to begin with, lol.

You can't even understand the connection between tax and budget. Amazing.

That would actually decimate low income but I see you never addressed my point but deflected.

You don't care if you pay a higher rate than Bezos.

When you have to add in SELECT social security INSURANCE programs to make arguments about the federal income tax rates while excluding other taxes paid....you've been exposed, your thumb is on the scale and you are dishonest.

Classic cherry picking.

Trying to mislead what could be a productive discussion about proper income tax levels right out the gate sets credibility to 0.

Your psychological pattern is interesting.

If those rich people don't have "income" on paper, find other ways to tax them. For example, sales tax 20% for those who spend over 5k a month.
But again: WHY?????

Why do you want to punish wealth? Isn't that a little regressive?

And why do YOU get to draw the line on who is wealthy? Why can't YOU be taxed more?

You may think Bezos does not need more police protection than we do. However, if there is no police, Amazon will be looted every day, which certainly has an impact on his wealth. Not to mention the legal system in the US guaranteed the prosperity of such corporations.

Many Amazon employees received education in public schools. If there is no government funding, it would be difficult to find properly educated workers.

All countries make rich people pay more (in theory) for good reasons.
Oh is that a "you didn't build that" reference? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
