To this day, most people still believe the notion fed to them, that the cloth and paper masks we were told to wear gave us protection from breathing in and catching the virus.
To this day, many people cannot comprehend the simple English phrases that describes how cloth and paper masks reduce (not prevent, nor "keep you safe from") transmission of viruses and how masks actually work.

These are the same people, I suspect, who use the chain link fence fallacy, or who smirk about being able to smell farts through a mask because they don't know the difference between gases and liquids, or how viruses travel on liquid droplets.

Vaccinated people who continue to wear masks are wearing them for one of 2 reasons: 1) their psychological issues or 2) political virtue signaling. Either way, it’s pitiful.

Incorrect. Masks continue to be worn because:

1) businesses and workplaces require masks
2) vaccinated people may have immunocompromised family members at home
3) people are uncertain of the vaccination status of others they will be in contact with

To everyone who wants mask mandates to end: get the vaccine if your physical health allows it.

Masks are still recommended for people who are not vaccinated. You can't tell who is and who is not vaccinated, so why not just leave them alone and assume that they are making what they consider is the best decision for their own personal circumstances? My body, my choice, right?

Are you implying that because people are ignorant, we should have no safety measures for anything?
Masks do NOT require touching your face repeatedly when properly fitted. This is just people being to lazy to actually fit their masks properly. They do not need to be taken into the home. Even if someone does take their mask into their home, a red zone could be set up where the contaminated items are left and not moved to a green zone until they are properly cleaned or sanitized (yes, you can sanitize masks through UV light.)
You are right on one thing, we had too many ignorant "leaders." This includes celebrities, influencers, and politicians acting like armchair experts. Yet, they obviously had no idea of what to do around biohazards. We also had "experts" lying to protect the resource supply.
No, China did not send us the virus on purpose. From their actions from October 2019 - January 2020, they were doing everything they could to cover up the fact that the virus was running rampant in Wuhan and rapidly spreading to other cities. Their actions were done to hide the fact that they lost control of a biohazard in their own country. They were just trying to maintain order and control of their populace. The spread to other countries was because they did not want to admit they had a problem, so they let people travel into and out of the country. Most major countries continued to allow people to travel to and from areas with infections. The world should have shut down their borders. If you go back and watch the videos of people departing from Wuhan in January 2020, China knew what to do. England/Ireland knew what to do. It just inconvenienced people too much and we, the citizens of the world, chose convenience over safety. We the people of the United States, in our pursuit of freedom, chose to spread this virus across our country. At the beginning of this pandemic, I told my wife "We are a free country. With that freedom comes the freedom to be an idiot." We have been free idiots. That's why there are approximately 615,000 deaths from the virus in the US.
Well said. It boils down to Americans having a lack of empathy towards others. Everyone is selfish only thinking about themselves and it shows right in this thread. Covid is "nothing" tell that to the 615,000 dead people and their families. Even people who have covid and are on their death bed from covid refuse to believe they have covid. Human nature denying you were ever wrong about something. Many people cannot see a problem or understand something unless they are DIRECTLY AFFECTED and even then they will find something else to blame cause cannot admit they were wrong.

Amazes me how grown adults act like a 2 year toddle having to wear mask over for your face. Oh yes the big bad government wants to "control" you but I'm o-okay with Google, Apple, Facebook knowing everything about me.

Not after the mask cultists forced mandates on large parts of the country for 15 months. Nope, the idea of “my body my choice” was thrown out by the mask cultists a long time ago.

I’m judging everyone wearing a mask to be either 1) unvaccinated or 2) a fool.

Just last Saturday a lady was asking me how to work the video poker machine at the casino. Masks aren’t required yet there she is in her mask. My words to her were “Lady, I do not work here and I do not speak with people wearing masks. It is rude for you to address me while wearing that useless cloth mask.”

They are still requiring masks at all medical establishments around here and have no plans to end it. Most people are still wearing masks.

Instead, it seems, some folks are taking the opportunity to be "maskholes".

I know and there is no legitimate medical or public health reason for doing it. I want a state law passed prohibiting businesses from requiring masks. There are already such laws in some states because of crime concerns. Those laws need to be enforced where they exist and passed where they don’t exist. The madness has to end. It is long past time for people to stop letting morons with a political agenda micromanage our lives. I do not consent to having brainwashed liberals tell me what I have to wear to make them feel “safe”.
