The problem is that conservatives are using CRT as a catch-all term to ban and censor anything they don’t like in American history, including teaching about slavery, for example.

An likewise, the liberals are doing the exact same thing. They are conveniently erasing anything from the past that happened which was a positive for a black or the black culture in the US. As far as the left is concerned, every black person in the US was a slave prior to the Civil War, no black ever did anything of value because they were all repressed and not allowed to live normal lives (the free blacks), there were no black businessmen and women, there were no black soldiers and no honored blacks of any kind, there were no blacks who lived in normal homes and did normal things, etc. As far as the left is concerned every single black alive in the US prior to about ten years ago was no more than a pack animal that was at all times in danger of being lynched.

And that is simply BS. It's hyperbole. I have a bunch of primary source historical references that are never included in modern history books that prove you wrong. You don't want a true picture any more than those you are decrying do. What you both want is political talking points.

And the liberals are continuing to do that. To hear them talk, you’d think all blacks are oppressed victims, unable to succeed in life due to the white man’s racism. In the meantime, in my primarily upper-middle area, I see black people in expensive steakhouses, nice designer stores, owning upscale houses, etc.

This is all a ploy to divide and conquer as a way to tear down the very fabric of our country - where hard work, discipline, motivation, etc., are viewed as positive traits - and turn us into a Marxist country.

I agree. There was a big stink recently about the commemoration of the Tulsa Massacre of 1921. Are we supposed to whitewash (no pun intended) our history and not teach kids about some of the bad parts but only the good?

Anyway, whatever you might think about CRT, to compare it to China's Cultural revolution is beyond ridiculous.

The Cultural Revolution damaged China's economy and traditional culture, with an estimated death toll ranging from hundreds of thousands to 20 million.........Meanwhile, tens of millions of people were persecuted: senior officials, most notably Chinese president Liu Shaoqi, along with Deng Xiaoping, Peng Dehuai, and He Long, were purged or exiled; millions were accused of being members of the Five Black Categories, suffering public humiliation, imprisonment, torture, hard labor, seizure of property, and sometimes execution or harassment into suicide;

Remind me, how many people have been killed or tortured over CRT?

Excuse me? Don't we still hear about Crispus Attucks, Frederick Douglass, George Washington Carver, WEB Dubois, Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King Jr, Harriet Tubman, Duke Ellington, Booker T Washington, Jesse Owens, John Coltrane, Hank Aaron and Thurgood Marshall? Aren't Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou and Tiger Woods household names? It's "the liberals" who celebrate the accomplishments of these African-Americans, far from erasing history.

We should create statues about critical race theory to educate people on our history. Republicans love statues.

Except that the Cultural Revolution was a violent purge of the Chinese society by the Communist Party to rid the remnants of the Nationalist Party who previously purged the Communists in the 1920s. And Batista led a Cuban revolution which was then overthrown by Castro. There's no equivalencing between a racism sensitivity issue and violent revolutions. It shows a lack of logical thinking and reliance on emotional appeal and hysteria, seen commonly here.

It’s almost like there wasn’t a serious reckoning with what happened in a Tulsa 40 years ago by private citizens and 20 years ago again by government:

Are you projecting your ignorance on to everyone else? It sure seems that way. Cancelling hundreds of pages and thousands of hours of documentation for a belief system… I hope you don’t tail against The Religious because they sometimes try to make reality fit their belief system. That’s exactly what you’re doing either through your own cognition or someone has gaslit you.
